Dominionist Christianity is actually cult membership. There is no one denomination that is a cult. It’s the observance of the bible to be the unerring actual word of god that determines characterization of a specific church as Dominionist.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu In all cults, there is the requirement of isolation from other social contacts and the requirement for constant reinforcement of cult beliefs, values and ideology, or cult members begin to think independently.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu Cults control their members by convincing them to let the leaders do all the critical thinking while cult members focus on obeying leadership.

This way, questioning the leader and the cult’s beliefs is minimized. And cult members remain loyal.

The vast majority of Dominionist churches are insular communities & meet several times per week with various members of the community they serve to study and reinforce beliefs, values & ideology.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu A significant enforcement of a lockdown seriously compromises the charismatic hold Dominionist leaders have on their parishioners.

Namely, it’s difficult to reinforce COVid is a hoax and overblown if the government has issued and is enforcing a public health lockdown edict.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu Logically, it requires defence of civil liberties in a court of law and reasoning that COVid is a mild flu, vs a deadly once in a century coronavirus wreaking havoc across the globe. Which is one argument JCCF made.

Rejected by the judge as baseless & poorly evidenced.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu But it also reveals the nature of Dominionist faith institutions (incidentally,a large portion of the UCP voter base).

The purpose seems to be to keep cult members completely outside of mainstream information exchange.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu Those who are not Dominionist are perplexed and puzzled by the actions of people that exist in a closed society.

But most of these parishioners are not unreasonable people. They just have no access to mainstream scientific research, mainstream media, and opposing opinions.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu These people have been locked inside an alternate reality and told the government is acting in bad faith. They’ve been told the virus is a hoax or just the flu.

Any of us with this manufactured and limited understanding would consider a lockdown unreasonable and tyrannical.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu Liberalists who are committed to human rights push back when governments enact laws that are a violation of the Charter and constitution. Because that’s what responsible engaged citizens do. In their perspective, they are aghast at our tyrannical subservience & refuse to comply.

@sayitlouderk @UbakaOgbogu Dominionists, and a large volume of the more secular Q’Anon, are living in an alternate reality, meticulously constructed and constantly reinforced by propaganda, disinformation, and an rigidly insular community that shuns mainstream culture and media.

That is approximately 20-25% of the population of Alberta.

People held captive in a mass cult to limit their exposure to dissenting information, evidenced opposition and to keep cognitive dissonance at bay.

Dominionism & Q’Anon members are cults. Cult members have been radicalized and used as weapons using delusional disinformation. Which is why the beliefs seem so foreign & bizarre to mainstream Albertans.
