As a result of listening to The ABC News breakfast this morning and the complete mischaracterisation of the Victorian second wave and the inane questions asked by the stand in presenter, I thought i would put a few things into context. Firstly has anyone heard of insurance?
I have and I understand it's a way to mitigate loss in times where the extra ordinary happen. Buying insurance involves some money and also a deal of planning. It's all about risk. So what do we do as a country when there is a risk? We make laws and we spend some money planning
all sorts of things to mitigate that risk. That is why we have a Police force,Border force and a whole raft of other forces who are there for when something might happen. So what did we do about Novel Viruses? In Feb 2003, we had Sars who.int/health-topics/…
and in 2012 we had Mers who.int/news-room/fact…
Both 7 or 8 years apart. SO what did the Australian government do? What planning did they do for another outbreak of a Novel corona virus? They are after all responsible for Quarantine and Health in Australia. So along comes Covid-19 in 2020 (8 years after the last coronavirus
outbreak. This one was reported on 31st Dec 2019. It's nasty and has infected and killed a lot of people. The only way to stop it is to stop contact and to isolate and let it run it's course. What did the Federal government do about Covid-19? Well on 27th March they abrogated
their responsibility in a National Cabinet meeting to the States. Around noon that day Victorian public servants were tasked with setting up Quarantine in Hotels. They had exactly until 11.59pm on 28th March to do that. The federal government had had 7 years to provide some
planning or insurance against such an eventuality. Yet they abrogated their responsibility to the States. Giving them 36 hours to set up an entirely new system. I am not excusing the mistakes made, but is it any wonder that mistakes were made?
What do we see from the press. The blame game full on against the people who actually made the whole thing work and in 3 months defeated it. yet not one press Journalist has put this into context and where the responsibility really lies. With the federal government. The
Federal government is a disgraced incompetent outfit and the press are no better. They should all hang their heads in shame. And where is the leader of the country? On bloody Holiday again! The Prime Abrogator.

Send three and fourpence we are going to a dance. NSW stats last 24 hrs.
And here are the federal figures for the Last 24 hrs.
The message should be. "Send reinforcements we are going to advance" This is the competence of the liberals Both in NSW and federally. Can't even get their stories right.

I can't help thinking that Australia (under a completely incompetent Coalition Government(s)), always gets Australia into trouble. Think Vietnam, think Afghanistan, Think Iraq. The liberal Party and the nationals are gung Ho a bit like a b grade War Movie, where the war could
have been avoided with intelligence and a bit of quiet diplomacy. It's also the best economic option. It costs a lot less for a diplomatic post than an army, Navy and airforce. It's the same with the overboard World trade scheme. We allowed a very liberal Trade deal with China,
including allowing their nationals to come in and work on jobs in Australia. That side letter which Robb signed and which the liberals crowed about has now come back and bitten them (and Australians) in the arse. The whole trade deal has come crashing down around our ears. All

@TheRealPBarry 4 corners and Porter and Tudge goes way beyond Sexual stuff. What the program failed to highlight was that these people are the people who make the Laws which govern us. They are the people who had something to do with Robodebt and I remember a Judge recently
said something about Criminal behaviour in a court case by one of them as well. Tudge is interested in Education, It's his political thrust, Porter's is the Law. Both of them are in Senior positions in the government of the day and making decisions each day by regulation or
making laws in the parliament of Australia...about things which govern Australians lives. Laws are essentially about how the Population behaves in society generally. The norms of Society. We have certain accepted Social norms and also laws which we must obey, upon penalty of

@Gay_Alcorn @oz_f I will say this again. The press and journalists haven't changed with the times. You write a whole load of Opinion based articles with no reference to where you formed those opinions. What you fail to realise in the new Digital Age people can actually go to the source documents
@Gay_Alcorn @oz_f and read them. We can go to the hotel inquiry and read all of the documents there. That wasn't covered up. It was set up by the Premier. It's an independent inquiry. We can read all of the statements and the circumstances surrounding the setting up of a State based
@Gay_Alcorn @oz_f quarantine system from scratch in 36 hours from 1pm on 27th march to 11.59 pm on 28th march. A responsibility which is normally a Commonwealth one. Yes I read the Section 51 of the constitution and also the biodiversity Act. I read the report of the learned Barrister/Commissioner

There is a whole load of Press going on at the Moment about @JennyMikakos and what she has said about @DanielAndrewsMP . Can I suggest that before making a judgement about all of this, people actually read Jenny's submission to the Hotel Inquiry. quarantineinquiry.vic.gov.au/sites/default/… ........
Its also a good idea to have in the back of your mind when reading it, the nature of the Pandemic and the Decision of National Cabinet to depart from the defined responsibilities of the Commonwealth under Section 51 of the constitution and the Biosecurity Act. Responsbility that
was devolved to the Victorian State Government and other State Governments by a decision of National Cabinet. Having cast off that responsibility, a time frame of 36 hours was defined for the Victorian Government to respond and set it up. Jenny's submission points out to the
