When you are in good times, keep giving Daan, help needy people and animals. Don't see object being donated, day and time. Don't wait for an astrologer to recommend Daan. People who donate, follow Dharma, do good as far as possible, face better results in adverse dashas/transits.

More importantly, don't fall for the idea that by feeding people on any day near temple (who anyway get food from many people), you can placate any Graha. You give people food, it's good, but not a high quality Daan because it has purpose behind it. Learn to donate selflessly.

Astrologers recommend to feed spinach to cow on Wednesdays. People do it religiously, and it's a good act. But will you you wait for Wednesday and won't feed it on any other day? Don't think of Grahas and if you like feeding cow, don't see day. Feed according to your capacity.

Even once in a year if not regularly, donate to armed forces, help institutions that serve blind and old people, help people who need assistance in treatment, help homes for aged people, and if you want, you can help some truly needy person within family too. Daan begins at home.

A Daan given with motive of getting benefit is Rajas Daan (it still remains Daan) but a Daan given voluntarily to needy without any expectations is Satvik Daan. Satvik is highest quality Daan.

दातव्यमिति यद्दानं दीयतेऽनुपकारिणे ।
देशे काले च पात्रे च तद्दानं सात्त्विकं स्मृतम् ॥

Take cue from life of Maharathi Karna and donate in good time as well as adverse periods.

अनुकूले विधौ देयं एतः पूरयिता हरिः ।
प्रतिकूले बिधौ देयं यतः सर्वं हरिष्यति ॥

In good time, everything is given by Vidhata and in adverse period, everything is forfeited by Him.

अनादरो विलम्बश्च वै मुख्यं निष्ठुरं वचः ।
पश्चात्तापश्च पञ्चापि दानस्य दूषणानि च ॥

Insult, delay in giving, turning away face, harsh words and repentance after giving, these acts pollute Daan.

Also, Parashar Smriti says Daan given upon asking is 'adham'.

1. Nothing like that. Grahas don't become weaker by giving Daan.

2. Daan given voluntarily without any expectations in correct time, at correct place and to correct person is highest quality Daan, and it brings happiness, fame and joy.

A man should given Daan even in adverse periods as everything ultimately returns to Lord. Also, a Daata(Donor) is a rarity to find. 🙏

दानं हि विधिना देयं काले पात्रे गुणान्विते।

Daan should be done by proper Vidhi, to proper (गुणवान) person and at correct time. Also, Uttam/Satwik/Dharma Daan has no motive behind it. Don't think of Grahas while giving Daan. It will give you only Punya.
