Rex Murphy's article sums up in detail the most visible failings of Canada's C-19 response. The economic costs especially to the youth are alarming and clear; prosperity, opportunity and growth have all been sacrificed with careless abandon. 1/
The usual dull retort is that C-19 was a pandemic for the ages. That is a canard and a lie. It is a hard-flu like illness that is manageable through wisdom and careful action. We had neither in Canada and we are poorer for it. 2/
But far deeper and painful was the lethargic behavior of the medical/scientific community. It's inescapable, we failed our country miserably. There was no critical analysis, no rising to the challenge. We indulged in rank opportunism or sat at home with a steady paycheck. 3/
Academics like to view themselves as liberal, free thinkers. C-19 revealed this too as a canard and a lie. We recklessly abandoned reason and like middle age clerics figured ways to launch modern day inquisitions to stifle thought. 4/
There is nothing pleasant in watching the enlightenment being abandoned by the liberal class. But truthfully, it has been happening for decades especially within universities. We have closed our minds and have circled the wagons. 5/
C-19 was the event that revealed how far universities have slid. A central pillar of society, often used to critique and correct public policy was silent. Those that dare speak up were told to "Shut up and get in line". 6/
Maybe the professerial class will learn from this experience. And maybe university administrators will recognize their failings and institute systematic change. Will it happen? My hope springs eternal. End/

Perhaps, nothing is more illustrative of 2020's death dance than coming across a still body along a bike path. A phone later, the paramedics politely carted him away. Homeless and wheel chair bound, his life looked hard and I suspect substance abuse with an issue. 1/
I didn't know him; he got a quick wave as I would jog by from time-to-time. He could have come from the local homeless encampment which has grown larger and more visable over the last year. Its hard to know. 2/
His likely death is one of three that has goal posted 2020. There was a visable public suicide in summer and and an at home death of a friend, too frightening go the hospital, the result of an ignorant public health campaign. 3/

This is the Ontario's emergency response plan. You can pretty much go to any jurisdiction in the world and they look the same. So why should you be interested? 1/

emergencymanagementontario.ca/english/emcomm…
These plans and the people that implement them (Emergency Management Ontario and Public Safety Canada) are ultimately responsible for coordinating pandemic responses. It isn't the Chief Medical officers as confirmed in a recent radio interview. 2/
omny.fm/shows/roy-gree…
There is a reason for this. Emergency planners have a broader mandate. They consider health in context to broader societal impacts so they can best mitigate disruption. This has been a clear fail with the current C-19 response. 3/

Education is the foundation of a properly functioning society. So when we have a large scale problem, education is our "go to" tool. Without a doubt, epidemiologists have proven to be an issue so I propose a year long re-education camp. So here we go.1/
At the onset, let it be known this won't be mandatory. But if one volunteers to decline, you won't be able to fully participate in society. Those things that bring humans pleasure will have to be restricted. Its just too risky, otherwise. 2/
It starts with a 28 day survival course where they forage off the land and learn "self reliance". It will be rough at first, we might even lose a few. But as those deaths are clearly secondary, there is no need to document them. The long term goal is a stronger herd. 3/

These are dark days for science. Reason, the scientific method, and objectivity are our preferred weapons. We believe thoughtful engagement should drive public policy. But what happens when the powerful abandon reason? We must call it out! So here it goes. 1/
This is the face of technical incompetence and intellectual dishonesty in Canada. Dr. Theresa Tam incorrectly called the C-19 threat and unleashed on Canadians a propaganda campaign to support the wildly controversial "Hammer and Dance" strategy. 2/

cbc.ca/news/public-he…
It doesn't matter how you look at it, the data was clear from beginning. C-19 was a standard, albeit modestly more severe, respiratory illness that targeted the expected vulnerable groups (age with multiple comorbidities). Something akin to a hard flu. 3/

The tweet and the ensuing article sums up what is so terribly wrong with Ontario's political and media establishment. It beyond a blind spot, its about minimizing the working class in participatory democracy. 1/
"Barbeque guy" is Adam Skelly a small restaurant owner, who after 8 months of being jerked around by the public health public was told again to shut down. He then stepped out of the shadows and engaged in civil disobedience. 2/
Three brushes with the law later, an arrest, jail and bail, Mr. Skelly has emerged a champion of small business and the working middle class. Mr. Skelly has a righteous cause, a dedicated following and most importantly a skillful understanding of the law and the reopening act. 3/

Happy Anniversary CoV-2. Its been an excited year with you here in Ontario and more broadly Canada.

What????

I thought CoV-2 arrived in mid March 2020. Well, that might not be the case. Shall we take a deeper look? 1/
According to Pravda, oops my bad the CBC, it all started with one person arriving in Toronto on January 25. It then of course spread like wildfire because thats what they were told. But is this really the case? 2/

cbc.ca/news/health/ca…
Unlike the CBC, classy news joints do a bit of digging and have punctured these sorts of contrived narratives. In the United States, the NYT provides a good example. 3/
