One of my big conceptual shifts for 2020 was fully accepting #Ethereum $ETH as a "global settlement layer"...

That's a lame ass phrase but I think it's true

Ethereum is becoming the deepest, most liquid market for ANY asset... any form of value

1/7
The most obvious example is #bitcoin trading on Ethereum.

That was phase 1

Now, we're seeing basically every blockchain project in the world create a "bridge" to Ethereum

2/7
That means that even if a token trades on another blockchain, it's got a tradeable version of itself on Ethereum, too

In this market, it simply HAS to

Ethereum is where the users are, and it's where the capital is

3/7
The most jarring example of this was when $WAXP announced it was bringing its token "value" onto Ethereum while leaving its NFTs on its own blockchain

4/7
As the Wax team said at the time: "I would liken Ethereum’s DeFi position to the way London emerged at the dawn of the industrial revolution to become the global center of credit and banking....

5/7
"As London built upon its position as the trusted custodian of trade capital and foreign exchange, other territories were able to sharpen their focus on the things they could do best - leading to a rapid rise in world trade."

6/7
New chains spring up... they focus on a niche

To tap capital, users and value, they bridge back to London...

back to where it's all happening... Ethereum

7/7

Wtf is Whiteheart?

First, you have to understand $HEGIC

It's facing dilution, but I'm long-term bullish

See the thread below on why... or read the tldr below

tldr = $HEGIC isn't your typical options platform...

it's an options protocol, which take options from something that trades on CLOB-y centralized exchanges and turns them into the fabled "money legoes" Ethereans love

There's a scene in Good Will Hunting where Chuckie lays some truth on Will:

"Let me tell you what I do know. Every day I come by to pick you up. And we go out we have a few drinks, and a few laughs and it's great. But you know what the best part of my day is?...
... It's for about ten seconds from when I pull up to the curb to when I get to your door. Because I think maybe I'll get up there and I'll knock on the door and you won't be there. No goodbye, no see you later, no nothin'. Just left. I don't know much, but I know that."
I don't know wtf it says about me, but I can hardly read that without getting emotional

It's one of the greatest moment in cinema

But I bring it up to say it's us, frens

This might be the time and place and market where it becomes possible for some of us to swoop out of here

Boozy thoughts on $DOT after soul searching

1) $DOT = a "metaprotocol." It spitteth out subprotocols called parachains

Parachains sit on the same level as $ETH + $BTC (see pic)

That leaves $DOT hovering above them like a six-armed god weaving a tapestry of subprotocols
1.5) For now, my mental model of $DOT has shifted from something of an $ETH competitor to a "customizable blockchain in a box" w sharding, inheritable security & interop
2) Devs point to great tooling as a big selling point for $DOT... It's RUST-based, which @daochemist says is great for distributed systems

3) Their documentation is legit AF wiki.polkadot.network/docs/en/learn-…
