suspension of disbelief, etc but so many of batman's problems in gotham would be solved if he just called up his super-powered friends. instead he just lets serial killers pile up their numbers when he could just call in the flash to do a quick search.
conversely, superman is awesome but he's not the best detective. he could just call up batman and go over clues with him instead of constantly being fooled by lex luthor.
(and yes i know, thats not the point because that would ruin the comics. still...)
"just call superman," i consistently mumble while enjoying a batman comic. i watch him struggling, and im thinking, just call him. you have his home phone number. call him. he can beat bane in like 2 pages while you spend 9 pages getting the snot beaten out of you.
of course when i reach the end and batman has come up with some ingenious way to win, im still like, "well that was pretty cool."
