People often confuse #ripple with $xrp as both are not the same. Why? Confusing marketing at best.

$xrp is a token behind #ripple tech. That's where the first problem lies.

There are 3⃣ techs hidden behind the public veil:

👉 xCurrent (xC)
👉 xRapid (xR)
👉 xVia (xV).

1⃣xC 👉 send & receive cross-border payments. Similar to SWIFT but with end-to-end tracking & bidirectional messaging.

2⃣xR 👉 low-cost liquidity solution for emerging markets.

3⃣xV 👉 send int'l payments via a bank/payment provider that's connected to RippleNet.

That's fantastic.

But only xR requires use of $xrp to function. 👀

👉 xV or publicly paraded xC - where adoption happens with banks all over the 🌍 - actually has NO use for $xrp. It is irrelevant, really.

So what's the $xrp utility here?

If #ripple allegedly spends considerable time/resources on creating a product which doesn't actually need $xrp token to function - what does everyday investor get in this deal?

Would it be far fetched to consider it as an 'investment contract'?

Do people buy $xrp because they see it as utility (hence scarce) token? 🤔

There is a really good argument here to be made that #ripple's efforts so far show minimal utility but maximum investment vehicle properties to finance its operations at expense of $xrp investors.

💡 In fact, #ripple made sizeable efforts to create liquidity of the token by paying commissions to various market makers.

Also - institutional investors would often get a price deal with 4 to 30% market price discount & minimal restrictions for re-selling. Dumping? 😠

🍒 on top - when you finally realise that #ripple company has virtually minimum resources to finance its ops but $xrp sales - why would you as an executive actually take such a sizeable payday before it reached sustainability?

🤪 Combined worth of $600 million...

If $xrp token is not immensely vested in the core products of Ripple - what is its real purpose?

Has its primary purpose not been used to raise capital to further finance their activities? 🤷

I have other ideas but I'll keep those to myself. 🤐

👉 This has nothing to do with the fact that tech may be sound & $xrp community genuinely great & engaged.

However, the execs & leading actors have been allegedly misleading/fogging the public & its very own community at their expense...

Again - it doesn't look good. 🤷‍♂️

To contrast with #Cardano...

#cardano's native token $ada is at 💙 & 🎯 of the entire ecosystem. Its well being is paramount to it.

It is a REQUIREMENT to run the network & participate in its core activities.

Has IMMENSE utility on its own in the system by definition.

There have been minimal to no similarities whatsoever between how #ripple executives & how #cardano founding entities handled their holdings & financing their activities all together.

💯 #cardano development has clear strategies & goals. @InputOutputHK has been under specific contract to deliver the product for the world class use.

And as a @Cardano community - that's exactly what we have been up to collectively.

$ada token plays CENTRAL role in it.

To wrap up - #cardano's native token $ada can hardly be equated with #ripplelawsuit.
