So I was all set to dig into the DALL-E article and really think about how they got it to generate coherent pictures from descriptions

And then I saw they included giraffe

"giraffe octopus" is giving it more trouble but some of these are still pretty good.

Giraffe-invertebrate hybrids are giving it more trouble.

Writing the word "giraffe" real small next to a drawing of a mantis does not make it a giraffe-mantis hybrid but I like the thought.

Giraffe-mammoth also seems to be a challenge.

To be fair, I'm impressed that this works even sometimes. And am also charmed by the giraffe with the little tusk-mustache.

DALL-E will generate "the X of Country Y" but not always the way the tourist boards would have hoped.

Also lovely: "an illustration of a baby tapir in a wizard hat wielding a blue lightsaber"

i believe square is the most cursed shape, although heptagon gives it a run for its money

They gave WALL-E the top and left of a picture and told it to fill in "a golden retriever looking at its own reflection in a mirror. a golden retriever gazing at itself in a mirror"

and it is both very wrong and very adorable
