This particular neural net didn't have any prior training - all it knows about english is what was in the existing candy heart messages I gave it.

Some of the neural net candy hearts were HIGHLY questionable.

It didn't learn this from its training data - it just thought it might be pronounceable.

This is why neural net chatbots aren't generally used. Their chaos will get past your filters every time. time 2 wank sweet hole wet mine dooo me sweet meat anl love lave log team sin wear me
Another neural net's attempt to flirt (via pickup lines) is the title of my book "You Look Like a Thing and I Love You".

Which contains:
- bad flirting
- clueless algorithms
- clueless algorithms that outsmart their programmers

Here are some candy hearts written by the neural net GPT-2. It's one of the most powerful text-generating neural nets out there, but I don't think it really knows what is expected of a candy heart.

I have trained a neural net on a crowdsourced set of vintage jello-centric recipes

I believe this to possibly be the worst recipe-generating algorithm in existence FAIR AND MOOSE<br /> <br /> Ingredients <br /> 3 cans (8 1/2 oz) crabmeat, drained and cut in half quarters <br /> 1 1/2 green beans, chopped <br /> 1 tablespoon grated onion <br /> 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed Cheddar cheese soup <br /> <span class=1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
3/4 cup lettuce leaves
1/2 large cucumber, quartered

The training data contained a lot of things.

It contained eel only once. For some reason the AI has decided to use eel a LOT.

It also invents ingredients

i mean i can see where it got confused

i had a much simpler neural net that wrote things like "he was born in a wonderful christmas tree" but i'd wondered if gpt-2 learned enough from its internet training to disentangle the two types of carols

the reason is, I saw first-hand, through visiting India (long not short trips, immersed in parents' village w no amenities - oh god I have stories and honestly a bit of ptsd too;)

the power of capitalism vs a more socialistic democracy: deregulation, growth of middle class, etc
it's the only system that advances humanity (rule of law & property, non-extractive institutions, etc.)

to be clear: this is capitalism, not *perversions* of capitalism (crony capitalism & regulatory capture, info asymmetry etc.)

People sometimes wonder why i am so worried about popular ideas in neuroscience being misleading.
Well, I joined my undergrad and later PhD lab to show that the brain was doing binding by synchrony. My thesis proposal with @konigpeter was truly ambitious, using natural scenes and in vivo recordings to truly convincingly show that the brain does binding by synchrony.
But the longer I worked on it and the more I thought about it I realized that the idea just does not seem to be good. It got some aspects of the problems of brains right while being misleading on many others. And the experimental data was somewhat dicey.

People sometimes wonder why God doesn’t stop evil. Here’s the answer.

Each planet belongs to those living on it. We can do anything we want & God won’t intervene however God knows eventually we will realize evil doesn’t work & God backs up (empowers) all positive action.

So it is our will take determines what happens. If we will evil, we are on our own. If we will good, God backs it up by empowering us to succeed.

Therefore we are the light & if we choose to shine, the world improves but we have to be willing to do it for it to happen.
