The only reason the GOP is a nationally viably party in its current overtly bigoted form is that they keep Black people demobilized and suppressed through gerrymandered control of state govs and keep white people in lockstep with the white supremacy agenda in many of these states

But if there is any slippage in either of these factors. If white people do even *slightly* better than they have historically and you can register and mobilize black people, you destroy the GOP map.

Destroying the map is the only thing that will save the GOP from itself. It's the only thing that will force them to adopt a less venal posture.

Georgia is giving me hope tonight because Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi... they're the way. Empowering Black people in the places we were enslaved is the way to free the whole nation.

And... yes, sorry, if there's ONE THING that should be solid after tonight, it's that D.C. is GOING TO BE A STATE NOW.
