Okay, a few thoughts on Impeachment I want to get out there.

First and most important:

It's the right thing to do.

It's the only thing to do.

1/
But this will put the Senate in a tough position.

If they don't have 17 Republican Senators to convict, they risk empowering Trump just like they did when they failed the first time.

2/
I think this risk is worth taking, I want every one single Senator on the record about the President's actions.

But I am concerned. If it fails, it stokes the rumors about 2024, and could backfire politically.
💯

Hopefully the fear of him doing something horrible (again), will force their hand.

No, the impeachment process is only for specific government positions. After Jan 20, Trump will be a private citizen, and so he cannot be impeached.

That long term political class also believes that America should repel an invasion from China if they attack us.

How could you possibly agree with them on anything?

If the House impeached him, there really isn't a time limit, so it would be possible for the Senate trial to take a while. But any impeachment proceedings would be moot on Jan 20 11:59.

Impeachment is for removal from office only.
So to me, the impeachment feels like Damocles sword, ready to strike if Trump gets out of line. It will be interesting to see what momentum it gains in the Senate

You might think this makes me happy. Trust me it doesn't.

I'm sad for our nation, I'm sad that half of this country refused to listen to reason.

I hope, rather than believe, that we will be able to move on swiftly from this dark cloud.
Privileged basically means that they move it past committee and straight to the floor.

This part should move quickly.

Gonna check in on people who promised me that Trump would win, lets see how they are doing....
On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you?
Now that Trump has conceded, what are your thoughts right now?

Someone really really doesn't want to get impeached again.

They need to end this man's threat to this country.
Oh my word, these people are still delusional

The only time you will ever see me use that word is in regards to that man.
I've said this before, but the reason we don't see much right wing mob violence (in America) as much is because the police violence serves as a proxy for them.

They see the police as taking care of the issue for them

Yeah, the guy who tried to cancel 81 million votes is going to lecture us on cancel culture.
Sarah Palin could see Russia from her house, Hawley can't even see the state he registered to vote in from his.

Hawley did read 1984, but he thought it was a training manual.

“Can Pence Throw out votes?”
No. The Constitution says Pence opens all certified votes and then announces them, and asks for objections.

That's it.

The ECA only adds two things: Pence asks for objections, and maintains orders.

That's it.

You know what other theories are "untested?"

That the earth is flat, that the Loch Ness monster is real, that Al Gore could've declared himself supreme leader.

Do you think Republicans are being triggered by all these vote spikes in the Georgia election?
