I thought it'd be fun to make a thread about Talin Uran and update it once every day with a fun general factoid about him! @idlechampions@Wizards_DnD
Day 1:
Talin can speak Common, Infernal, Undercommon, Thieves' Cant & learned Common Sign Language from Nat, Squiddly, & Jenks!
These will all be very general factoids, if you want specifics you'll have to tune in to interviews and shows over on their Twitch! twitch.tv/cnegames
Day 2:
Talin's wheelchair was a gift from his time spent working for the Bregan D'Aerthe. It was a custom order from an Artificer in Luskan and has seen several upgrades over the 6 years he's been using it!
Y'know what? You get an extra one!
Day 2a:
Talin's wheelchair, Edge, got it's name from Jarlaxle Baenre. When showing Talin the wheelchair he'd commissioned for the first time, Jarlaxle had said, "I thought something like this might give you an edge."
Ever since, the name Edge-
has stuck. Even though Jarlaxle and Talin parted ways after 5 years due to a disagreement, Talin could never bring himself to rename it or commission a new chair. It means a lot to him.
Day 3:
Talin is 26 years old and was paralysed in a building collapse when he was 21. People have remarked before that they are 'surprised' that Talin's tail can 'still move' when in actuality he corrects them by saying the twitching and limited movement he has in his tail is-
the result of extensive nerve damage that causes muscle spasms. He typically keeps his tail tucked into the seat of his wheelchair with the help of the seatbelts.

A quick guide for new folks here about ableist language and language changes!
1) Don't say 'differently abled' or 'handicapped'. The term is 'disabled'.
2) Disability-first please! Say 'a blind person' NOT 'a person who is blind'. Person-first is outdated and was a concept-
pressed on us by able-bodied people in the Disability Studies field. It comes from the idea that you should 'see the person not the disability' which is gross. However, older disabled people may prefer person-first language. If you're unsure of a person's preference ask politely!
3) Don't say 'wheelchair bound'. It is ableist and doesn't account for ambulatory wheelchair users! Additionally, wheelchairs are not confining, they are freeing and give a lot of disabled people independence!
4) 'Cr*pple' lame' & 'r*tard' are slurs! Do NOT use them. However-
My name's Sara (or Mustang), and I'm a disabled, chronically ill, and queer disability advocate, predominantly working in the #ttrpg#dnd sphere!
Here's a short thread of some of the things I do!
1/6
I created the Combat Wheelchair - a supplement for 5e #dnd that is free to download and use in your games! In fact, you've probably seen Dagen Underthorn on @CriticalRole use this ruleset (many thanks to @matthewmercer 💜) & @idlechampions' Talin Uran! 2/
I currently work at @RTalsorianGames as a writer on their Witcher #ttrpg. I've also helped to bring Cyberchairs and wheelchairs to their Cyberpunk RED and clockwork prosthetics to their Castle Falkenstein!
Today has been me walking around the house and telling anyone who'll listen to me that there is now a WHEELCHAIR-USING CHARACTER IN A LICENCED D&D GAME HELL YEAH #dnd
I'm coming for the published books next!!!! You'd better believe it!!!
Catch me crying like an absolute baby over this lmao
A wheelchair-using character in Idle Champions!!!!
It's my boy! There he is! Look at him go!!!
You may know Talin Uran from when I was a guest on @HWRPodcast in their Rime of the Frostmaiden game, and from this stunning piece of art by the wonderful @kroovv!
I want a cutscene in the next Witcher game where Geralt stands up and his joints all snap and pop like a glowstick please lmao
He also has to do the very long drawn out 'HNNNNNNNNN' sound from sitting down too long
Geralt spending a minute having to pace around and bend his arm and knee into ridiculous positions whilst mumbling "Just fucking snap" to himself is what I crave in life
