So... identify & hold accountable.

Shame is often cited as a way to fix things but shame is the other side of the coin of pride. Shame causes people to reject then join “proud boys” to counter and find “safety” in an echo chamber & “tribe.”

Let’s instead focus on rule of law.

When I think of “shame” I think of the Puritans who led witch trials, killing women who were different and disrupted norms or I think of those who stone women to death. Shame is what happens when “honor” lost. When KKK rides to “protect” white women’s “honor” or “honor killings”

We need to eradicate shame, in fact. It has too much of a violent, ugly history of social control, engaging the limbic system & lizard brain, most often is used against those who are different

Let’s NOT use that when the point is that we live in a Constitutional federal republic

Slavery & race issues have been contentious since the founding of the nation. It is not well validated from historical sources that I’ve read..

This is inherently a “moral” issue about who is fully human, who is fully a citizen, and the morality that underpins these definitions.

“Morality” works through shame, tho.

#Ethics works through rational, factual, logical processes & adheres to standards/laws.

We need ethics.

Just think about it. When have we been the most barbaric? Aren’t there many examples of a crowd crying “Shame! Shame! Shame” while throwing stones at a woman?

When was the last time people stoned/lynched someone crying “Unethical! Unethical! Unethical!”

#Ethics invokes REASON

Our Union has always been a fragile one. It is a grand experiment that even the Founding Fathers did not expect to last this long. They DID understand the role of education. Whereas today we live in a world of misinformation, exacerbated by #socialmedia that spreads lies fastest.

Those who succeed at tyranny, often inciting mob violence, activate fear, hate, disgust via the lizard brain/limbic system to dehumanize the target.

We canNOT respond at a lizard brain level. Then we are just red ants vs black ants in these meme.

Who is shaking the jar?

There absolutely should be accountability. It is essential.

But we MUST do so through a valid, transparent, emotionLESS process.

Our fealty must be to the Constitution and to the rule of law rather than “get them!” or “Shame! Shame!”

This is about integrity, ethics, law.

Example: her brother’s former employees, U.S. contractors, killed civilians
pardoned

She gutted public education, what our Founding Fathers described as essential to freedom, democracy, the ability of the Republic to last

Now resigns?
Scot-free?
Where’s government integrity?

We cannot be the same as people who hang a noose, invoking an ugly history of lynching in America, fully intended to be a white power symbol to tell others to stay in their place while this is “their” house

Just like an election is not “stolen” if Black ppl vote

This old fight is not going to get resolved thru shame & blame
