Les Contes de La rue Broca. Fascinating tv series adapting Pierre Gripari’s novel of the same name. A series of fairy tales set in different time periods. All told by the author himself to his 3 friends: the grocery store owner Papa Saïd and his kids Nadia and Bashir
In the witch of the broom closet fairy tale, Pierre recounts to his 3 friends how he bought a house for 5 francs when he was a kid. A villa set in Paris. A cosy location though with a strange history as he found out. Indeed, the place is cursed by the witch of the broom closet.
As Pierre learns from the seller, anybody who says in the 🏠 the phrase “Witch, Witch Witch, beware your big fat butt.” shall anger the witch who shall devour its teller. At first, Pierre says the phrase 😂 outside the 🏠 . Until one day he says it in the house by accident.😨
Out of generosity as Pierre begs for his life, the witch offers him a bet. For 3 evenings, he must ask her 2 give him something that she cannot bring forth. If only once she fails to summon an object he wishes, she shall leave him alone. Other wise, she shall eat him.
Interestingly, Pierre the storyteller introduces Nadia & Bashir into thr story. As friends to whom he asks help 4 wishing things the 🧙🏻‍♀️ cannot bring forth. Begging Bashir’s magical 🐠 2 answer his questions. brilliant narrative tool that implicates Pierre’s friends & surroundings
In its story, the witch of the broom closet is a fascinating episode that builds well its tension of a house cursed by a witch Haunting a closet every evening. Waiting for someone to say the ill-advised phrase. Tension well displayed in the camera angles and the design.
In the cast, Yves Barsacq who did the inventor in Michel Ocelot’s Cinesi and Tales of The night and dragon and Princesses, does the voice of papa Sahid, the grocery 🏬 owner. As an actor, he also did Rimsky in Woody Allen’s Love & Death, & Dupont in the 1990s Tintin series.
In its composition, the story is very well written. With memorable moments and scenes. Built upon a clever twist at the end regarding the one object that the witch cannot bring forth. Something related to 🐸 and hair.
Based upon Claude Lapointe’s illustrations for the 1990 book release of Les Contes de la Rue Broca, the witch of the broom closet is a classic that was adapted into an opera. A gr8 story part of French literature. And a good tv adaptation.
4 excellent images in the episode The Witch of the Broom closet.

Precisely my philosophy. By interacting with people with different opinions can we learn things that we need to improve or maintain. & it helps shatter this horrible manichean perspective that one side is good & the other is evil, which people in politics tend to use too much.
Too many times, I see people on both sides interacting with others as if they are evil and mean when they are all the same. All wanting for an equal society. Yet sometimes some people in politics and on Twitter tend to treat politics like children. To put people in camps. 2/
I truly feel politics, and especially in America, will really improve when we will stop treating the left as the good guys and the right as the evil. For both sides are capable of good ideas and bad ideas as well. 3/

Considering David O Russell's infamous history of bullying his people on sets and being abusive (I Heart Huckabees videos), I think the man should take care of his mess before attacking a man like MJ who has better manners than him. #MichaelJackson #MJ2021
I know George Clooney hated working with O Russell and even got into a fight with him during the filming of Three Kings. Even people like Robin Williams pulled vile jokes on MJ, and regarding Williams, Jermaine Jackson met him at a premiere & berated him.
Though I know there are people like Prince who were friends with MJ and did friendly pranks on him, there were others who just exploited bashing culture on Michael Jackson because it was what sold cash. Very rotten way to make a living.

In the DVD Les Trésors Cachés de Michel Ocelot, the director speaks of his first animated series project.
The TV series Gedeon. About a Duckling with a super long neck. Who befriends animals around the farm and the countryside and lives many adventures with them. Some dangerous.
Based on a book series by Benjamin Rabier, the series Gedeon was produced and launched by Yves Rousset-Rouard, who produced the movie Emanuelle, a successful erotic French movie that made so much money he decided to make an animation studio.
As explained by Michel Ocelot, the work conditions were some of the best the director ever witnessed. However, the climate turned sour after someone badly advised the animators that they were mistreated by the producer.

Though it is despicable a certain WB cartoon attacked Johnny Depp, remember the world supports him, that people are signing petitions in masses, complaining to WB & its people on social medias, by mail, and letters, and that WB's folks are afraid of that. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp
Remember that today, Johnny has been rewarded by a big European Festival 4 his work. That the documentary Crock of Gold which he produced is getting superb reviews and great word of mouth from the public, that on Instagram 8.5 million fans are on his page. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp
Remember that the Dior Perfume Sauvage is getting sold out online and in stores, with the face of Johnny Depp being promoted everywhere. So remember that the world stands by him and hates Turd. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp

Corpse Bride.
Tim Burton film co-directed by Mike Johnson. A wonderful stop motion movie starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter during the making of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
In a far away country, groom Victor and bride Victoria are meant to be married under parental indications. Though they get along well on their first meet, Victor has trouble struggling with his vows.
While reciting his vows in the woods he accidentally gets married to a corpse bride. Who carries him down to the world of the dead. A situation that Victor tries to escape from, though he ends developing affections for the defunct bride as well. Causing a triangle situation.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Excellent adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book from Tim Burton. Starring Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore. Filmed and Produced in London alongside the stop motion film Corpse Bride. #JohnnyDepp
Through a very faithful plot line that respects the dark humour of Roald Dahl and uses his exact songs, all sang by Danny Elfman himself, the film gives another take to the magic and poetry of Roald Dahl’s classic. An adaptation that the Dahl Estate adored.
Note also how in the film, we have the first entry of the first Chocolate room as a minuscule doorway. That moment made me think of Alice in Wonderland and knowing that Tim would work on that film project in 2009, I find it a wonderful irony and premonition.
