It'll guide your walk with God and you'll get a better understanding of the kind of choices you make.
Matthew 4:1-11 talks about the 3 temptations of Jesus in the wilderness.
But do you know those temptations were just a refined form...
...of what happened in the garden of Eden?
Let's dig in!
The strategies of Satan hasn't changed over the period and that includes his temptations. He may disguise or refine them but it doesn't change and so Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:11 that, "Lest Satan should...
...get an advantage of us: for WE ARE NOT IGNORANT OF HIS DEVICES."
The temptations of Satan to Jesus in the wilderness is the same temptation to Adam/Eve in the garden of eden, and it's the same to man today!
Same temptation to the first man (Adam), Second and last man (Jesus) and the recreated man (Christian).
The 3 temptations of Satan in the garden of Eden were (Genesis 3:5); 1. The lust of the eye (he said, "your eyes shall be opened"), 2. The lust of the flesh (he said, "you...
...shall be as gods"), 3. The pride of life (he said, "you will know good and evil").
When he came to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, it was the same modus operandi.
The 3 temptations of Satan to Jesus in the wilderness were (Matthew 4:3-11); 1. The lust of the eye (he said,...
..."I'll give you all the things you see"), 2. The lust of the flesh (he said, "Turn the stones to bread to satisfy your hunger"), 3. The pride of life (he said, "Allow yourself to fall and your Father will instruct the Angels to save you").
In our day today, he still seeks for Christians to fall through the same set of 3 temptations.
The 3 temptations of Satan to man today are; 1. The lust of the eye (he promises wealth). 2. The lust of the flesh (he promises, sexual pleasure).
3. The pride of life (he promises, great influence/fame)
His strategies haven't changed but, "...we are familiar with his evil schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Eve didn't have the word of God in her, rich enough to have withstood Satan (God gave the instructions to Adam)...
...so they fell to Satan.
Jesus had the word in Him richly and so He withstood Satan with the word.
If you want to also withstand him today YOU MUST HAVE THE WORD IN YOU!
Now that air has blown and fowl nyansh is open, take your Bible study seriously. You now know better!

I received lots of messages from around the world on how to study the Bible using verses.
I.e. How to have a better understanding of a particular verse of scripture and I thought to share in this thread.
In this thread, you'll be informed on; 1. How to start studying a verse 2. How to connect it to other verses
For the purpose of this thread, we'll use Genesis 1:1 as case study.
1. CHOOSE THE VERSE!
As simple as this may sound, you have to be led by the Spirit to the right verse to study. Of course, you could also select a verse you believe you need more insight into.
Case study: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Joshua 1:8 says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt...
...make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success".
Memorizing the scriptures has a plethora of benefits but a few include;
A. Helps you exercise your mind to retain the word of God.
B. It equips you for the evil day (reference: Jesus in the wilderness).
In this thread, you'll learn very practical but simple tips and or steps to effective memorization of the scriptures.
Quick tips for anyone that wants to pray for longer!
The length you spend in prayer tells a lot about your Spiritual stamina.
It's a fact that the state of your heart is important in prayer but it's equally important the duration you spend in prayer.
If you truly understand what prayer is (fellowship with God) and its benefits, you'd stress on the importance of the length, as much as the state of the heart.
These are 5 simple but effective tips to help you stay longer in prayer.
1. Tell the Holy Spirit how long you want...
...to pray and He'll help you. He enjoys your fellowship and so He always helps you (John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth...)
2. Don't start with fresh or high energy. Start with minimal energy and you'll gradually increase it. It's a marathon not 100m race.
