At DOJ press conference, an Acting US Attorney for DC is saying the entire Capitol grounds are a crime scene. Yes. But it should have been secured as such immediately.
That Wray, Acting AG, and higher ups aren't giving this briefing is nuts.
He is saying that additional compounding charges against those already arrested are already happening and to expect more. Expects 100s of criminal cases.
Says public isn't familiar with a whole bunch of other cases/defendants—building cases of sedition and conspiracy. 20 year penalties.
Evidently to brief the public on domestic terrorism you must be a bald white guy.
Sherwin is doing a good job. We should have had this briefing five days ago, and Wray/AG should still be there.
There's an FBI sedition strike force.
They only took 6 questions, none from print reporters, cut off presser before (presumably) any questions about Trump came up.

So better than nothing, but a lot more transparency needed.

Reminder that @RepSherrill is a former US Navy helicopter pilot and a federal prosecutor. Doubtful she would have made this accusation flippantly.
She said other Members of Congress were giving tours she now thinks were for "reconnaissance."

Pro golf cancelling Trump cuts at:
-his favorite activity
-a main source of income
-his core identity

Not just American pro golf that's cancelling Trump. The Scots are on it too:
The Scots are also looking at Trump's courses there and weighing using money laundering laws to investigate him, as @russchoma has written about: motherjones.com/politics/2020/…

This is illegal, immoral, but also Trump seems incredibly unteathered to reality, even the reality that he and his cronies have constructed washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…
Here is some of the audio. My god. Also congrats to @BenSasse @HurdOnTheHill and the others who are now alarmed at the kind of illegal pressure he is applying to the GOP, but who looked the other way when he did the same to President of Ukraine washingtonpost.com/video/politics…
And once again I want to note that Mark Meadows is bolstering Trump’s worst acts and impulses

Since manifesting trust across all demographic groups is essential to a successful vaccination campaign, I hope Biden camp will figure out ways to have COVID-responsible Republicans like Romney be a visible part of the communications/logistics push.
Romney's idea of using birthdays plus tiers as the way to organize vaccinations is interesting, reminiscent of how gas was rationed in the Carter era, by odd/even license plate numbers.
The idea of calling up retired doctors/nurses, plus EMTs, former medics, vets—basically anyone who's ever used a syringe—would have the knock-on effect of restoring/manifesting community trust, both within and across demographic groups.
