Twitter isn’t all bad because Mark’s randomly-offered blueberry barbecue sauce in the smoker turned out fantastic.
Smoked it on peach wood. I cut the blueberries and tomatoes by 1/3 based on what I had on hand. Did mustard seed. Swapped red wine vinegar for apple cider vinegar. Did jalapeños smoked on mesquite and frozen instead of habaneros. Forgot to take out the garlic. It was a journey.

Maybe it’s obvious and I’m being dense, but can anyone identify the flag in @dedelaugesen’s photo from the Capitol?
The green, white, and red flag.
A few of you say it’s the old flag of Iran under the Shah. At the risk of learning an answer I don’t want to know, why would someone be carrying the pre-1979 Iranian flag at an uprising at the US Capitol?

NEW: @RepDianaDeGette, speaking on House floor, “This man (President Trump) is dangerous... he has invited sedition.” @RepBoebert speaks next beginning her remarks with “Glory to God.” Boebert is yelling. #copolitics #9News
Boebert: “I call bull crap when I hear Democrats calling for unity. They are only united in hate.”
DeGette’s larger point was that the President did not learn and change his behavior after his first impeachment. Boebert’s larger point was difficult to grasp. Something about how a Democrat who didn’t condemn looting over the summer is responsible for the Capitol insurrection.

Colorado learned this week what happens when you send a Patriot to Congress. A @nexton9news commentary:
I'm talking about the kind of American who is a Patriot by their actions - not because they've printed it on a t-shirt or a hat. A Patriot defined by the caliber of their character - not by the caliber of whatever they holster to their hip.
When the United States Capitol was under attack - a Patriot from Colorado - @RepJasonCrow - took action.

Colorado's North Park is a food desert where people drive long distances for fresh groceries. That aspect of food insecurity is complicated by winter weather & the tough economy. #HeyNext viewers have raised $45k+ for Jackson County's only food bank.

Our Word of Thanks microgiving campaign this week supports Mountain Family Center, the non-profit that runs the food pantry in Walden and three more in Grand County (Kremmling, Granby, Fraser). They've seen 11,000 visitors this year.
As always, I'll match the first fifty donations of $5 from Next viewers. Since June 2020, Next viewers have raised $2.6M for non-profits across Colorado. This is the first week we are focusing our efforts on North Park.

NEW: Colorado tech CEO bragged about the storming of the US Capitol after posting about anticipated violence in DC. Chad Burmeister of Littleton promoted Three Percenter militia and QAnon claims, writing, “We will vote with our voices and ultimately guns.” #9News #copolitics
Burmeister, CEO of ScaleX, went to DC anticipating violence, sharing a QAnon-linked post on Facebook earlier this week, writing, “things could get ugly this week.” His posts repeatedly mention “The Storm,” QAnon shorthand for the day President Trump will execute his opponents.
Burmeister’s Wednesday Facebook post captioned “First guy to storm the capital today.” was edited Thursday morning to read, “Peaceful march to the capital.” Burmesister told me he never breached the Capitol building himself and said I could not use his photo.
