Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz writes to President Xi
It appears that Starbucks CEO was worried after seeing the signing of the Sino-European Investment Agreement.
European companies will enjoy much more favorable conditions on the China market.
2/ So H. Schultz wrote a letter to President Xi congratulating him on China achieving moderate prosperity and at the same time exhorting him to guarantee the interests of US companies on the China market.
President Xi replied by asking Starbucks CEO to help remedy the Sino-US
3/relationship. Western media didn't mention Schultz' letter to President Xi in the first place as if China is the begging side. China respects reciprocal diplomacy. China's President wouldn't write to an US CEO out of blue. The position each occupies doesn't have
4/ diplomatic equivalence.
H. Schultz is a democrat. He is not the only one worrying about the US interests on the China market.
All US multinationals should be concerned with Washington's current anti-China policy. The person they should write to is not President Xi, but
5/ rather their Congressman and President Biden.
Starbucks owns 3500 coffee shops In China, its second biggest market. Its coffee prices in Shanghai are among the highest in the world to give you an idea of the purchasing power.
Starbucks still has room to expand in China.
6/ The cosmopolitan outgoing Xinjiang youth are the most forgiving bunch. Despite the fact that their families are being "mass murdered and locked up" (alleged by Western media), they would love to be able to sip coffee in a Starbucks coffee in Xinjiang like in any
7/ other big cities in China...
With the go betweens (or "turncoats" as per Peter Navarro) like Howard Schultz, the Sino-US relationship might be normalized during the Biden administration.

Important news not picked up by MSM: effectiveness of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines may be between 19-29%
According to British scientist Peter Doshi, the vaccine statistics of Pfizer and Moderna are probably "touched". If one applies stricter criteria, the effectiveness is
In the third phase trial, among the ones who received vaccine shots, all those whose PCR test results were negative were counted towards "effective" even though more than 3000 manifested Covid19 symptoms.
No follow up was carried
3/ out to see if the results would turn positive in the next few days.
Moreover, hundreds of people's statistics were discarded because of deviation from expectations.
So the shortcomings of the American vaccines are:
I/Brand new biotechnology, side effects are likely to
Human species has evolved to the current stage where the West, supposedly the most advanced section of sapiens has deemed the collective human behavior (China's hard lockdown and big data tracking) to adapt to the harsh reality of the environment for survival
2/ as "totalitarian human rights abuses".
Unfortunately virus doesn't know and doesn't cooperate with Western propaganda.
If virus had been more lethal, some part of the sapiens would have been wiped out. Chinese sapiens would have survived thanks to
3/ their "totalitarian human rights abuses".
In the evolutionary history of sapiens or animals, those who are able to adapt to the environment survived. Not the other way round. It's not for the environment to adapt to human needs or rights. It's for humans to adjust
Despite anti-China propaganda, there's a worldwide buying spree of "made-in-China" in 2020. Trend will strengthen in 2021. China is going from world's factory to world's super factory
China's exports have gone up 20% in 2020. One of the contributing
2/ factors is the wild increase in PPE and other medical supply orders China received from all over the world. As most factories are closed or unable to meet the heavy demands within a short notice, China as world's factory with huge manufacturing capacity has to step in.
3/ The 2021 key product of China's exports would be Chinese vaccines. Given the advantage of safety, effectiveness, easy transportability and affordability, as of now, 40 countries have expressed the purchase intention and 16 countries have already ordered 500 million vaccine
other medical supplies for the world hit hard by Covid.
Successfully developed safe viable affordable easily transportable Covid vaccines and proposed latter as a public health product for the world, especially for poor countries.
2/ Eliminated absolute poverty. Provided long-term sustainable livelihoods to 100 million poorest people.
Sinovac vaccine has gone through the third phase of its clinical trial. The protective rate is 79.34%. Though It looks lower than the 90-95% protective rate announced by Pfizer, Modena and Russian vaccines, one must bear in mind
2/ that China uses the traditional method of virus inactivation which produces a lot less undesirable side effects. And even when side effects do manifest, it's within the known and expected range. There's a lot less uncertainty.
It's to be noted that the protectiveness
3/of traditional flu vaccine is about 60-70%. So a 80% is pretty respectable. Highly concentrated antibodies have been detected in everyone receiving the vaccine. Even if 20% of the people may still catch Covid19, the symptoms will be a lot milder and won't necessitate
Another look at the vaccine situation. Western nations can only take care of their own vaccine needs. Burden of vaccines of the rest of the world lies with China
Comprehensive effectiveness of Chinese vaccine is about 86%. It generates 100%
2/ antibodies but overall effectiveness including duration is about 86%. Effectiveness of Pfizer vaccines is said to be about 95%, but its side effects are alleged to be more serious & numerous.
Chinese vaccines use the classic method employed by flu vaccines, ie, dead viruses.
3/ When a dead virus is injected into the body, it doesn't reproduce but the virus has the form of a live virus so it will induce the body to produce corresponding antibodies. The Pfizer vaccine uses the mRNA method by injecting a fragment of the virus RNA giving the body a
