You can see construction vehicles still working on the road at the base of Trump’s wall. @POTUS Biden ordered a pause within seven days.

This was the scene before dawn on the border when I joined @Morning_Joe. Those lights behind me line former President Trump’s wall construction, which must be paused along the entire border within seven days per President Biden’s order yesterday.
Just drove by some unused steel bollards at a staging area in the shadow of President Trump’s wall here in Otay Mesa. Unclear what happens to these extra pieces post-POTUS Biden EO.
I’m in CA. Here’s some of what’s happening in Texas.
And here’s an update on Arizona from @LaikenJordahl, who along with other activists and members of the Tohono O'odham Nation, took us to see construction of Trump’s wall there last year.
Looks like as of yesterday afternoon, wall construction hasn’t been halted everywhere, per @PeccaryNotPig.

LATEST: Trump admin is trying to sabotage Biden’s immigration plans with last-minute deals, officials tell @JuliaEAinsley and me.

I'm often asked if there will be a criminal investigation of Trump officials for his family separation policy.

This new DOJ IG report could be a road map for the Biden administration to do just that.

Many who have dealt with the fallout of separations say @RodRosenstein’s apology is far too little, far too late, particularly for kids who are traumatized for life as a result of the policy and in light of the DOJ IG report making clear he was involved in its implementation.

NEW: Lawyers say they still have not reached parents of 611 kids separated by Trump, per tonight's court filing. That number breaks down this way:

➡️ Parents of 392 were deported
➡️ Parents of 201 are likely in U.S.
➡️ Trump admin has no contact info for parents of 18 kids
Last month, that number was 628. Incoming Biden-Harris admin has said these reunifications will be a top priority of a yet-to-be-named family separation task force. Whether or not all families will be reunited in the United States is TBD. They haven't said.
The total number of separations by the Trump administration is over 5,000 according to the ACLU.
