This summer there will be the name of a particular ghost on everyone’s lips. His name? Muncher. He’s just one of the many spooky creatures you can expect to run into in the multiplex in the long-awaited followup to 1989’s smash hit “Ghostbusters II”, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” Image
A lot has changed in the world since “Ghostbusters II” was released 32 years ago. The end of the Soviet Union, the death of “The People’s Princess” Lady Di, and the tragic events of 9/11. How will Slimer, Muncher etc be able to cope with this whole new world? Well, we’ll have to
The elephant in the room of course is how “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” director Jason Reitman (the son of “Ghostbusters II” director Ivan) will account for the absence of actor Harold Ramos, one of the original stars of “Ghostbusters II” who sadly passed away a few years ago. What w
The other “Ghostbusters II” castmembers like Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson are expected to reprise their original roles but don’t be surprised if this supernatural comedy manages to bring Harold Ramos back through today’s high tech visual effects
A few years ago Disney struck gold when they made “The Force Awakens”, a soft remake of “Star Wars” that combined new characters with some old friends. Will “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” take a similar approach to the original “Ghostbusters II” or blaze a whole new trail?
Sony Pictures is taking a big risk: a sequel to a 32 year old movie? GHOSTBUSTERS II was released in 1989, and though AFTERLIFE has a mix of new younger characters and some old friends, the studio must have been impressed with the success of MARY POPPINS RETURNS, made 54 years la
If the name "Reitman" sounds familiar as the director of the latest GHOSTBUSTERS flick, it should: this new one is a family affair with Jason Reitman selected to direct the followup to his father Ivan's previous entry in the series, the 1989 box office hit GHOSTBUSTERS II
Is Jason the "Reitman" to direct a GHOSTBUSTERS movie? After all, he's not known for blockbusters, he's thought of as more of a sly satirist of American life. But AFTERLIFE is set in rural America, a far cry from the ghosts and goblins haunting Manhattan in 1989's GHOSTBUSTERS II
Fans of GHOSTBUSTERS II can expect some callbacks in AFTERLIFE to some of the more memorable moments from the 1989 blockbuster. For the fans, it's been a long wait for this conclusion. 32 years of wondering how this saga will end. And Reitman knows the fans expect him to deliver.
But don't be surprised if AFTERLIFE turns out to be a crossover film for a whole new "Ghostbusters Cinematic Universe" if you will, not unlike the ones over at Marvel or DC. The young cast might be picking up the torch from the older generation and setting off on a whole new adve

WandaVision... this is definitely a show for people who like their entertainment a little on the WEIRD side
One way I can describe it - think of "I Love Lucy" or "Ozzie & Harriet" but with a Marvel twist
It feels like your basic fifties sitcom but there is something a little weird going on under the surface

If you’ve seen THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER you know why the GOP are turning on Trump now. They are the simple townsfolk who fell for his mesmerizing Preacherman schtick: now that he is obviously A Bad Man they are chasing after him with pitchforks & torches to cover up being fooled
I am half-kidding but also half not-kidding
I think that the ending of NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, Lillian Gish’s final scene with the children, just gets more and more powerful and profound with time

Serious question: what was the last movie Bruce Willis was in where he was acting and not just being Bruce Willis getting paid to be in the movie? I feel like it might have been Unbreakable but is there a more recent example?
Don't say Live Free or Die Hard because he pretty much phoned that one in
It's been brought to my attention he was kind of trying in Moonrise Kingdom, okay anything more recent than that?

Several movies made this decade are real movies but don’t seem real. They were released in theatres but no one talked about them. They were released on VOD and streaming services but still no one talked about them. This thread will pay tribute to them
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, a 2017 drama about an Iraq war soldier dealing with PTSD. Starring Miles Teller and Amy Schumer in a supporting role. I never saw a commercial for it. It opened wide & two weeks later, vanished. Did it come out on video? I’ve never seen it for sale
Ah yes the 2013 drama BROKEN CITY with Marky Mark as a PI hired by the Mayor of New York City, Russell Crowe. It cost 35 million and made 34 million. Directed by one of the Hughes brothers. Is it a real movie? Has anyone seen it? Has anyone seen it since 2014?
