This Fauci interview by @tonydokoupil could be my beloved skinny tie's finest hour. (Tony has it on semi-permanent loan.)
Come to think of it, there should be an app for news people who want to do clothing swaps. I am like Doug of Nickelodeon fame, wearing the same thing over and over. In this case, I just left my tie on their stroller one day.
I, of course, would request a pair of the Kornacki khakis.
Ah, Mondays. Back to work.

President Biden’s acting AG received a memo in 2017, first reported by @skirchy, that would have made him aware of Trump family separations long before it was known publicly. Memo resulted in transfer of prosecutor who raised concerns. With @JuliaEAinsley. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
President Biden has said he is committed to reuniting migrant families separated by Trump and is expected to announce a task force to do so in the coming days. He also said his DOJ would conduct a “thorough, thorough investigation” into potential criminality of the policy.
White House declined comment on whether Biden transition knew about Acting AG Monty Wilkinson’s role in prosecutor's transfer. DOJ says office Wilkinson led at the time “plays an administrative role related to the associated paperwork but does not make decisions on assignments.”

On the border watching for the halting of Trump wall construction in real time, one of @POTUS Biden’s first executive orders. A Biden WH official told me we can expect news on reunification of separated families in the days ahead as I told @NicolleDWallace.

LATEST: Trump admin is trying to sabotage Biden’s immigration plans with last-minute deals, officials tell @JuliaEAinsley and me.

"The whole point is 110 percent to screw the incoming administration from doing anything for six months," one said. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
The agreements would require Biden’s DHS to consult with certain jurisdictions before "making any decision that could reduce immigration enforcement, increase the number of illegal aliens... increase immigration benefits or eligibility for benefits.” nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
Any of Biden’s immigration policies — including work of a task force to reunite families Trump separated — could be stalled if states argue that they were not consulted.

A former Trump official called the agreements "an attempt at undemocratic sabotage." nbcnews.com/politics/immig…

495,000 L.A. households are at risk of eviction, according to UCLA’s @ChallengeIneq. Not a typo.

Inequality before the pandemic created a national housing crisis. Without protections from lawmakers it’s poised to explode.

This is what that will look like.
President-Elect Biden has called for an extension of the federal eviction moratorium and increased rental assistance and funding for unhoused Americans. cnbc.com/2021/01/14/bid…
Here in Los Angeles throughout the pandemic @LATenantsUnion, @KtownforAll and others have protested evictions like the ones we saw — what law enforcement calls “pre-COVID” evictions — calling on city and county officials to issue stronger protections. latimes.com/california/sto…

I'm often asked if there will be a criminal investigation of Trump officials for his family separation policy.

This new DOJ IG report could be a road map for the Biden administration to do just that.

Thanks @AliciaMenendez for having me on.
More on that report. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
Many who have dealt with the fallout of separations say @RodRosenstein’s apology is far too little, far too late, particularly for kids who are traumatized for life as a result of the policy and in light of the DOJ IG report making clear he was involved in its implementation.

BREAKING: Department of Justice officials respond to new Inspector General report, which says DOJ was "driving force" behind family separations, by blaming Trump, expressing regret.

With @JuliaEAinsley. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
A former DOJ official tells us "the most important thing from this is the very deep premeditation and intentionality for the entire family separation effort regardless of known harm that would come to parents and children... cruelty was the intent." nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
Important: this report could provide a road map for the incoming Biden administration to investigate those responsible for the policy President-elect Joe Biden called "criminal" to @kwelkernbc and told @GeoffRBennett his DOJ will investigate. nbcnews.com/politics/immig…
