"The AstraZeneca vaccine is allegedly hardly effective in older people. According to the German Handelsblatt newspaper, the drug has been found to have an effectiveness of only eight percent in people over 65."
If ... I repeat if ... this report is true, then the big drop in efficacy for over 65s could have been discovered as part of the German or EU authorisation process, which should end this week. ... The kind of full authorisation process that the British government rushed through.
And to anyone saying I shouldn't RT this story, the Handelsblatt is a serious newspaper. And it's not the only one printing the story.
It's interesting. ...🤔... I wonder if the same people would be criticising me for cautiously and responsibly retweeting this story if it came from the Financial Times? ..... But as it's from the German equivalent, it must be dubious ... ?
Here is an English thread by the original author of the Handelsblatt newspaper explaining the data behind the article in detail.
Facts, facts, facts ...
The government has an 80 seat majority. It should use it. Labour voting for this terrible deal means them doubling down on Corbyn's idiotic support for triggering Article 50 without amendments. Whatever happens from now with Brexit, Labour will co-own it. Labour is a Brexit party
For the record, here are the times Labour abstained or voted against pro-EU legislation on Brexit. But somehow, whenever it came to votes on pro-Brexit legislation they felt compelled to support the Tories. Labour is a Brexit party.
In case you're wondering, here are Keir Starmer's original 6 Brexit tests vs the Tory deal he's about to support. Truth is, Starmer has betrayed himself, and he now has no more credibility on Brexit than Corbyn had. Labour is a Brexit party. #BrexitDeal
Scotland's economy is the size of Hungary's, but with less people. An independent Scotland also has massive potential for growth. The idea that it wouldn't be welcomed into the EU with open arms is nonsensical. As is the notion that it wouldn't fulfil the criteria.

As for the border problem with England. Yes. There'd be a border if England stayed out of the Single Market & Customs Union. Just like the border that will exist from January between England and Northern Ireland. But in exchange, Scotland would have EU trade & global EU FTAs

So if Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Ireland, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Malta and many more smaller countries can flourish as sovereign states within the EU, then so can Scotland!

Anti-Maskers are a mix of white supremacists and QAnon anarchists. They showed their true anti-democratic face in Berlin today by trying to storm the Bundestag. A mask isn't just a symbol of common sense and empathy anymore. It's a symbol of anti-fascism.
And before anyone makes a joke about this, the extreme right in Germany have already killed many via the NSU and other groups bbc.com/news/world-eur…
Ps. As you'll see with some replies to this:
"The first rule of QAnon is we do not let people define QAnon."
The thing about herd immunity is, it doesn't work with #COVID19. Because even if you catch it once, there's nothing to stop you catching it again after a few months. So everything the UK government did in order to promote herd immunity was a complete waste of time, money & lives
Here's the evidence.

WHO (and all serious reports): "There is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection." who.int/news-room/comm…
And in case you want to argue that no proof of immunity doesn't mean there isn't immunity (in certain rare cases that are still being investigated and which may turn out to have other causes) spare your breath. This isn't an intellectual game. People are dying.
