Garda: Are you at home?

Person not at home: I am Guard.

Garda: That’s great thanks.

This is genuinely the intended enforcement method of home self-isolation announced by government, according to RTÉ @RTENewsPaulC

Political control of what should be a Public Health-led response in a public health emergency carries problems.

In media terms, one is that pre-eminence is given to politicians arguing over the merits of public health measures, to the exclusion of our Public Health Doctors.👇
Fortunately, several of our Public Health Consultants have been given scope in some newspapers and many have availed too of social media to alert the public to their views. @irishexaminer @businessposthq notable here.

Not heard so on RTÉ, with one or two exceptions.
Locally @Corks96FM @pjcoogan have served the public superbly with regular interviews of high quality including for example @NICU_doc_salone and @TJRyan_77
