I'm certainly not unique in this, I rarely have time in any day to focus on distractions within sections of the independence movement.

I'm laser focused on #SP21.

But I will use this moment to make it clear that Tories are banking on infighting doing their work for them. Image
If you are pro-independence, regardless of political affiliation, I'd advise it's best to do everything that you can to make sure that pro-independence voices are elected at #SP21 to ensure that Scotland has a choice about its future.

For me, that's by making it #BothVotesSNP.
With over 20 polls indicating majority support for Scottish independence and the most popular political leader in the UK, we have what is without a doubt, our best ever chance at succeeding. Image
I remember what we all would have given in 2014 for polling at the dazzling heights of Yes at 58%, a referendum that was lost.

Support has increased in part as devolved decision making and leadership has been put under the spotlight, like never before, due to COVID-19 pandemic. Image
But I would not be doing my job if I did not make it clear that we should not be taking polling or votes for granted. And that division, like in the Scottish Labour party, can cause a decline in support for both the SNP and Scottish independence. Image
In 2014, there was a general acceptance that Yes was a broach church, united by idea that Scotland's future would be better in Scotland's hands. And there was respect for debate within movement between people holding differing political views.

Diversity was, and is, strength.
But to be clear, there should be no place for misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia or any other forms of hate, which are also acting to drive a wedge within the Yes movement.

We should be aiming to create a Scotland that is better for all that live here.
The SNP wasn't "captured" by "woke" activists or "careerists", we grew bigger due to the loss of a referendum and people wanting to become card carrying members as a symbol efforts to make sure Scottish independence happens. We broadened our support, this was great progress.
That doesn't undermine or belittle the efforts of those that came before. We would not be where we are now if it were not for them.

Every single SNP activist stands on the shoulders of giants, but those giants all had to start somewhere.
As we grow more voices will join us. This is what makes a successful political party.

I keep thinking back to 2014 and what we would have done in the final two weeks had we been polling substantially in favour of Yes.

Well, this as that moment. And it's ours to win or lose.

🤨 An unambiguously British nationalist image from the party political broadcast for Scottish Labour.
This comes from a place of attempting to emulate the Tories as much as possible in the hope that Brexit backing seats in the North of England will return to Labour.
It’s a curious choice to broadcast this type of imagery in Scotland when sections of Scottish Labour’s support are pro-independence, 20 polls in a row show majority support for Scottish independence, and the obvious political connotations the flag has in parts of Scotland.

Hi @John2Win, are you a man of your word? What's changed?
Hi @AndrewBowie_MP, you signed a letter in 2018 saying that you "could not support an agreement with the EU that would prevent the UK from independently negotiating access and quota shares" and suggested it would be a “betrayal of Scotland”. What's changed?

The wall to wall coverage of Coronavirus is giving me flashbacks to the time I woke up with an extremely blinding and piercing headache.
I rarely get ill, but I knew there was something seriously wrong, so a family member took me to hospital in north Edinburgh straight away.

After some initial checks by a doctor, they sent me to a quarantined bed in a private room for further tests and treatment.
I then drifted in and out of conciousness for the next week.

I remember asking a nurse to turn the heating down, not realising that it was my body which was at a dangerously high 39 °C.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 @JennyLConstable, who voted No in 2014, eloquently explains why she would vote for independence in a future referendum on Scotland’s future.

- Scotland being told that voting No in #IndyRef would mean remaining in EU.

- Scotland’s remain vote being ignored after #EUref.
In my view, one of the best things about 2014 was the many new articulate voices that came to the fore during #IndyRef. Each person that makes there voice heard gives others the confidence to do the same.
Those who already have a significant platform can help by sharing it with others. There’s a new generation waiting to be heard.
