The more I think of this, the more it makes sense.
In the versions of comic where he makes his own web shooters, he probably doesn't have ANY powers. He's he's just constantly experiencing hysterical strength due to constant stress-induced overproduction of adrenaline.
Alternately, if Spider-Man actually DOES get some sort of trans-normal ability to detect danger when he's bitten, how can that even work these days? How can he function?
Allow me to present a brief one-act play destailing Spider-Man's origin story if it happened in 2020....
Peter [a winsome youth] Alack! I am a teen!

Spider: Prithee, I bite.
Peter [sotto voce] 'tis but a fig, I notice not.
Spider: My venom spent, I fly me hence
though it doth grant the boy a warning sense!
