White politicians referring to white CSE victims as ‘our girls’ is a whole heap of racism, misogyny and sexualisation of girls which implies that only white men can rape and abuse them, and that they don’t care about the rape and abuse of Black and minority ethnic girls at all.
The systemic racism in CSE continues, as it always has done. Lots of people are invested in pretending that the majority of perps are South Asian, despite the majority of perps (87%) being White British.

But this rhetoric about owning the girls.... ‘they raped ‘our girls’ is 🤢
It’s literally the exact same mantra and slogan as EDL. All of their banners and arguments were ‘Muslims are raping our white girls’

What?

Since when did those pricks care about child abuse at all?

Well, they didn’t, until they decided they owned all white girls.
There is now this huge ‘conspiracy theory’ that the govt and professionals like me are ‘covering up’ the scale of Pakistani Muslims raping ‘our white girls’ when it just isn’t true. The majority of all CSE offenders are white men. There’s no way around that. Other than lying.
Where the perps were actually Pakistani, those large cases you read about in the news... their victims were not just white girls at all. In fact, their victims from Muslim, Sikh and Black communities were ignored. It was a white wash. All those victims were ignored totally.
I know some of those victims and I cannot imagine what it must feel like to have their experiences ignored and misrepresented in the media and in politics year after year - like it never even happened to them - because all they care about is ‘our white girls’
If you are looking for a pattern in CSE offenders, the strongest trend and the most blatantly ignored pattern is the sex of the perps.

This isn’t an ethnicity thing, this is male violence against girls.
What annoys me most is the amount of people who have never even worked in CSE who think they know who the victims and perps were. Our frontline KNOW it was majority white men, because they worked on those cases for years.
But the sensationalising of the cases where the perps were Muslim whipped up stereotypes and deepened racism to a dangerous level in which even some charities and professionals believed it and created resources about Pakistani guys raping white girls.
To those who say ‘but but in those cases the Pakistani men called the white girls racist terms so that means it’s a racist crime’

Nah, what you are seeing there is violent, misogynistic sex offenders using literally any slur that would work to oppress and harm their victim.
Don’t people realise that these men were raping girls in the local community, raping girls in their own families, raping girls they met through other men and through the girls?

The issue is that ONLY the white girls were seen as victims of them, and even then, treated like shit
I don’t know how any politician can now stand up and use the phrase ‘our girls’ after we literally ignored, gaslit, victim blamed and failed to protect pretty much every single one of those girls. Hence the Jay Report and countless SCRs which showed how much we failed those girls
But now they are ‘our girls’ right? When it supports a racist narrative?

Fuck your ‘our girls’.

I was one of those professionals working in SV and CSE across those years and no one gave a fuck about them.

That apathy was amplified even more for Black and South Asian girls.
Final thing I’m going to say on this is that I’m appalled how many academics know this data inside out and say nothing. Academics at top unis getting grants and promotions for research in CSE and sex offending who don’t step out and fight the racism.

Appalled. Shame.

Men don’t rape or abuse women because they need more education, counselling or advice.

They do it because they want to, because they can, because they know that society doesn’t believe women & because the chances of prosecution are less than 1%
No sex offender turns around after 6 sessions or an educational video and says, ‘oh my god, you’re right, I’m an abusive, violent rapist and need to change my own behaviour, and stop targeting women and girls and then blaming it on them.’
It’s time to stop saying things like:

‘If they just knew more about consent/healthy relationships/abuse/misogyny - then they wouldn’t behave like this’

What makes you think that they don’t understand consent?

They do, that’s WHY they rape women who don’t want it

For years, more and more services that should be statutory and government funded have had to be replaced with charities and donations because the govt stops funding them. To the point where we are literally donating now to schools, NHS, foodbanks & shelter.
Govt isn’t even providing basic human rights at this point, and we are all expected to be so happy when someone walks up a mountain or releases a song to donate to a service that we literally pay taxes for already.

No one should be having to raise money for stat services.
But it’s framed as positive isn’t it? An elderly man raises millions for the NHS and he’s a bloody hero. He is. Of course. But why on earth did he even need to do that? The NHS isn’t a charity. It’s supposed to be funded correctly to function.

Saw a thing on the internet and decided to try it too.

This is what you get when you google ‘school boy’ and then ‘school girl’.

This is why we talk about the blatant objectification and sexualisation of girls. This is why we focus on the oppression and abuse of girls. ImageImage
See how boys are allowed to just be kids at school?

But look what porn culture has done to the image of the school girl. She’s just a child at school... or is she?

Clearly not. Clearly, a school girl is a sex object, a fantasy, a costume for the male gaze.
This is the sexualisation of female children who go to school. That’s what this is, in its simplest terms.

This is why we do not accept that boys are abused, oppressed and sexualised on the same level or at the same rate as girls. It’s just not true.

This broken woman
Pulled herself together
With twine made of vengeance
Pinned through feathers
Of her clipped wings
Dragged her heavy body
Picked up the pieces
When the twine broke and frayed
Carried on through gritted teeth
Muttered things you’d never say
Raised her expectations
To impossible heights
Applied them to herself
Kept the world in her sight
Took aim and didn’t miss once

If you want to improve safeguarding and social care training, stop letting people with zero knowledge or qualifications in neuroscience and neuropsychology teach anything about the brain to professionals. The stuff I see terrifies me - some of it is hilariously wrong.
I studied neuropsychology, but didn’t specialise in it (it was originally what I wanted to do instead of forensic). But even I don’t offer training about the brain or neuroscience, and I always call my best friend (neuroscientist, PhD) and check my thinking or theories with her.
This often results in us both literally laughing and/or shaking our heads at training courses, speeches and videos for everyone from CPS to local authorities about the brain, trauma and neuroscience.

Please check the trainer is an actual professional in neuroscience/psychology.

This might actually be the sickest thing I’ve ever seen on the internet and I have seen some sick shit.

I won’t say what I’m thinking cos I’ll get banned off this platform

CONTENT WARNING
Misogyny is still the most ignored form of hatred.

We are so behind in acknowledging, believing or tackling misogyny. We will never get to a place where we can change the world & make it safer for women and girls until we discuss misogyny like we do all other forms of hatred.
Misogyny is so belittled and ignored that, as a form of hatred and oppression, most people claim it doesn’t even exist.

That’s where we’re at with misogyny at the moment. The reason we can’t tackle it is because it’s not even acknowledged as real in some places
