1/ We commonly see how queer theory attempts to blur—or outright obliterate—the lines between biological categories like male and female, but it's important to realize queer theory also attempts to "queer" boundaries between core concepts like objectivity and subjectivity.

This is the "nugget of truth" issue. Queer theorists take categories that may have somewhat blurry edges and insist that this means that ANY distinction is arbitrary and pure preference.

4/ These blurry boundaries are where the interesting conversations *should* be taking place. But instead all we get are intellectually lazy assertions that "X is a spectrum" or "X is a social construct" and notions of "relative truth."

5/ To be clear, intellectually prodding at categories and their boundaries is something that should be done. This helps us understand natural phenomena. This is fully within the purview of science, and is best done by skeptical scientists.
6/ This isn't the job for postmodern critical theorists who have an a priori commitment to viewing knowledge as relative and maintained by power structures, and who have a political agenda impelling them to dismantle anything they perceive as oppressive.
