The special program with Toriyama starts at 4:20pm, so the screen will probably stay like this for the next 20 minutes. Stay tuned!

The Square Enix Music official page has released a screenshot of what the special program looks like. This one is of Cloud and it asks the question (to Toriyama):

"What was the reason you had when making this song to use mainly during battle scenes?"

#FF7ROC
All rightttt 4:20pm let's gooooooo......? Video hasn't changed yet, but I'll update when things start happening lol.

#FF7ROC
Lol the Japanese comments are like "ummm.....it's starting later...?"

We'll just wait...patiently lol...

#FF7ROC
Apparently the comments are saying the Special Program has an impromptu change, and it's now supposed to start at 4:30pm.

5 minutes to go...

#FF7ROC
IT'S STARTING!!!

PRELUDE STARTS PLAYING!

#FF7ROC
The MC is voice actor Lousbery Arthur.

#FF7ROC
The program will be first talking about the song Tightrope as it is used in many different battle sequences, with a very nerve-wracking but powerful feeling. They are asking Music Supervisor Kawamori about it.

#FF7ROC
They wanted to put a new song into the trailer, so they decided to use Tightrope to bring a new feel. At first they weren't sure if they should add too many new songs, but they found that it did fit into the FF7R atmosphere.

#FF7ROC
Kawamori mentions that the Bombing Mission song in the original had some pretty loud clanging sounds, and he and Ise discussed how to change it so it fit the Remake. They were able to find a good balance by changing it but still paying homage to the original song.

#FF7ROC
Kawamori and Ise mentions that Kitase and Uematsu had different visions of how the songs should go since they had worked on the original, and Kawamori and Ise tried to work closely to make sure the songs fit the image they were looking for.

#FF7ROC
Ise mentions that he absolutely loves Tifa's Theme.

#FF7ROC
Next song they will talk about is One Winged Angel, and how did Hamauzu rearranged it with the chorus and entire ensemble.

#FF7ROC
Ah, hold on, he actually sang with the chorus! He says he remembers it happened when he just joined Square Enix, and he was still quite young at that time haha.

#FF7ROC
Next song is going to be about Shinra's Theme! Visuals include President Shinra and Heidegger scenes. There are a ton of songs related to Shinra.

The question is "Why does Shinra has so many other songs related to it?"

#FF7ROC
The reason is because there's a lot of elements in Shinra's theme, so they were able to branch it out to other songs.

#FF7ROC
Next song is about "Stand Up" that was actually recorded abroad.

#FF7ROC
Toriyama and Suzuki will be discussing information about Stand Up!

#FF7ROC
Toriyama and Suzuki held an audition for foreign artists abroad, and they had a lot of people who auditioned. Toriyama were also thinking maybe checking YouTube if there would be some talent as well.

#FF7ROC
Toriyama says that Suzuki is always going to places abroad and leaves Toriyama in Japan as he goes abroad lol. Toriyama is like "you always choose the coolest looking studios!!" as he talks to Suzuki via Zoom lol.

#FF7ROC
LOL Suzuki's Zoom call is at his house, and his doorbell just rang.

#FF7ROC
Toriyama said they decided to record abroad so that the artist could be relaxed when recording the song.

Stand Up is not a song performed by an orchestra, so he's very excited to hear the orchestral arrangement.

#FF7ROC
Suzuki mentions "Stand Up" is a very bluesy song, so it was interesting to think about how to change the instruments so that it would work with an orchestra arrangement.

#FF7ROC
The next topic will be about the Juke Box songs. Toriyama will be talking about the Jukebox songs too.

#FF7ROC
Toriyama said that when they were deciding on the Juke Box songs, they were thinking about what kind of music people living in Midgar would listen to and what type of music would play in a restaurant's entrance, store, etc.

#FF7ROC
Toriyama wanted the music for FF7R to be like a soundtrack for a movie moreso than a game. He thinks that the team was able to really compose something that fit that movie soundtrack image he had.

#FF7ROC
Seems like Toriyama is saying a closing message now!

#FF7ROC
He mentions that although experiencing the music during a concert is different than a livestream, he still hopes that everyone will still be able to enjoy the music and arrangements that they have planned for the concert!

#FF7ROC
Aww, cute. The last video message is all 5 composers and music staff saying "We hope you enjoy the concert from beginning to end!"

#FF7ROC
The video is showing an empty concert hall (obviously), but all the musicians are now in tuning.

The concert begins in 5 minutes at 5pm Japan Time!

#FF7ROC
Thanks everyone for joining the Special Program thread! I will have the FF7R Orchestra Concert thread in a separate on and will link it later after the concert has finished.

The FF7R Orchestra Concert live tweets from me will be in this thread! I'll use the hashtag #FF7ROC so everyone can keep track with info from the concert as it happens!

Here's the entire Set List, which includes an intermission in between.

Let's mosey!✨
Based on the Set List, the orchestra seems like it will be at least 2 hours long, perhaps longer with the Encore and Intermission.

Any announcements or surprise guests will likely be towards the end of the concert.

Kitase is also scheduled to have a video message.

#FF7ROC
All the musicians have joined the stage along with the lead violin. Once again tuning instruments.

The conductor Sasaki has joined the stage.

FF7R Producer Kitase and Co-Director Hamaguchi talked a bit about Part 2 during the CEDEC conference! Here's the excerpt's translation.

Kitase mentions for Part 2, they want to deliver something that will live up to everyone's expectations but also throw them off, in a good way.
It took me a while to translate Kitase's quote because I was having trouble finding the right words to translate 「いい意味で裏切る」(literally "a betrayal in a good way"). I interpreted it as surprising the audience by going beyond their expectations but to "throw them off."
Here's the Japanese transcription of that part of his quote: そこには原作知ってるからこそ思ったものを届けられる場合もあれば、もっと「あ、こうなってたんだ」の驚きもあったり、期待に答えるのといい意味で裏切るのとっていうのを原作があるからこそ、そこうまく表現し楽しみに変えられる作品

All right CEDEC+ Kyushu 2020 Online, let's see what interesting info about the FF7R development Kitase and Hamaguchi have to say!

I'll post highlights or interesting info starting now! The event has started, and you can sign up here to get the event link: peatix.com/event/1750894/… ImageImageImage
MC Question: How did the Remake become an actual thing?

Kitase: It was a decision made after speaking with Nomura and Hashimoto. In particular, Hashimoto mentioned he always wanted to make a game like Advent Children, and it became a project after much discussion. Image
Kitase says that tons of people thought that the first PV for FF7R was for another movie, but when they put the FF7 Meteor logo at the end, he thinks lots of people probably lost their minds that it would be a game lol.

Interesting bits from a 15 page interview on FF7R that's released in tomorrow's Famitsu:

-The next installment is already in full development
-They couldn't go further with the Madam M massage scene otherwise ratings would go up
-Roche was supposed to have a battle in Ch. 14

Boku No Hero Academia Spin Off -Team Up Mission- Chapter 1 Summary thread! Class 1A aren't divided into teams just yet, but they're currently patrolling along with All Might in the city when they encounter a little boy called Tsuyoshi, who's quirk is he can harden his hair.
Characters that make an appearance in this chapter, which is only 19 pages, are the following:

All Might
Aizawa
Deku
Bakugou
Todoroki
Ochako
Iida
Jirou
Mineta
Tsuyu
Shouji
Ashido
Aoyama
