The FF7R Orchestra Concert live tweets from me will be in this thread! I'll use the hashtag #FF7ROC so everyone can keep track with info from the concert as it happens!
Here's the entire Set List, which includes an intermission in between.
Let's mosey!✨
Based on the Set List, the orchestra seems like it will be at least 2 hours long, perhaps longer with the Encore and Intermission.
Any announcements or surprise guests will likely be towards the end of the concert.
Prelude -Reunion- showig the original game's intro of Aerith, then Cloud jumping off the train, now of Sephiroth with Jenova, battle sequences. All from the original game. Wow it's so good T__T
Next song is Opening Medley. The CG intro of FF7R is playing right now with the sweeping images of Midgar leading up to the actual opening with Aerith.
Visuals right now are the entire bombing mission opening with Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge taking out the Shinra guard and the Barret telling Cloud to come along.
I kind of wish the live stream would still continuously show the visuals on the side of the screen as well when the camera focuses on the orchestra musicians instead of the visuals. Ah well.
Footage begin shown is all of Mako Reactor 1 with the lasers, fighting the guard dogs, President Shinra and Heidegger watching, etc. All scenes from Chapter 1 basically.
Kitase is saying that because of the lockdown, they decided to do a livestream concert for everyone's safety. He says it's unfortunate they couldn't meet in person, but he's happy for everyone's support for making this still happen.
He says the songs in the original have been redone in the Remake to make it more interactive and dynamic. He says that the orchestra has also created some new arrangements for a lot of the songs and hopes everyone enjoys them!
We now transition to Mako Reactor 1 with scenes of Midgar, President Shinra, Heidegger, Jessie talking about Midgar with Cloud, Mako Reactor 1, and Mako Reactor 5 footage.
Cloud stepping all over the flowers lol. Aerith giving Cloud the materia he dropped and Aerith talking about the materia she has. Now showing them walking across the rooftops.
Showing the scene where Aerith falls and Cloud catches her. Next scene is of Aerith with the orphans at the Leaf House in Sector 5. Scenes with Elmyra too in her house.
Scene of Aerith and Cloud at the playground. Aerith talking about Zack and Cloud having a painful headache lol. Then transition to Aerith in Chapter 11 with the ghosts.
Shows now the flashback of Aerith as a kid as she gets left alone while playing hide and seek. Aww that's sad. Why they gotta do that during this song 😭
Next scene is Chapter 12 boss battle with Reno and Rude, scene with Rude's helicopter exploding, Reno screams "Rude!" then cut to Rude putting his hand on his shoulder as Reno smiles.
Turks Theme ends with Tseng at the door of Seventh Heaven.
Next song is "Tight Rope," and it shows scenes of Sector 5 with Cloud, Tifa, and Barret once more, walking across the planks to turn on the sun lamps, making their way through the Sector.
Now scenes of the sewers and the fight with Abzu as well as fighting off the monsters in the sewers such as the crabs and teenage mutant turtles (sorry I forgot the name of that monster lol)
Scene of now Tifa and Cloud back to back as Cloud tells her to go on ahead out of the Sewers and Cloud follows soon after. Song ends now and the next thing is a video message from Composer Suzuki!
Suzuki is talking about the bluesy jazz numbers they have in the soundtrack, such as Scarlet's Theme, and he's discussing how they decided on the vocalist for Stand Up.
He now is discussing about how Stand Up is very upbeat, so he had to think about how to rearrange it for an orchestra without vocals this time around. He hopes everyone enjoys the new arrangement of this song!
Visuals are of Andrea dancing, scenes of the Honey Bee Inn where the girls lead Cloud in and onto the dance floor. Cloud and Andrea dancing together, Aerith watching.
OH wow they actually are showing a lot of the actual dancef number lol this is awesome. Now it's Cloud's makeover scene. He wears the basic black dress in the scene haha.
Now it shows Tifa, Aerith, and Cloud in their dresses standing in front of Corneo. Tifa wears the purple dress, Aerith wears the red dress, Cloud wears the black one.
This song's visuals is like perpetual Cloud having an aneurysm throughout the entire game montage. Like legit, that's it, that's the visuals. And flashes of Sephiroth lol
Wow Cloud has headaches for a full 2 minutes throughout the game? I'm actually surprised there are THIS MANY scenes with him having weird flashback or headaches. The song ends with Tifa looking at him worriedly.
Tifa asks if she can get him a drink. Next scene is Cloud and Tifa in his apartment as she gives him the key. Now scene of them at Sector 7 fighting the Shinra guards.
More scenes at Seventh Heaven where Tifa now makes Cloud a drink. Entire drink sequence, but the drink is the yellow drink. Next scene shows Tifa holding her cup as she sits next to Cloud at the bar.
Scene after is Tifa and Cloud on the train as they fight the security machine things. Next scene is of Cloud and Tifa rolling out of the train together and embracing.
Scene after that is Tifa's Resolution scene in Chapter 14 as Cloud hugs her. The music crescendo as Cloud wraps his arms around her. Song ends with the end of Tifa's Resolution scene.
Oh they're basically just talking about the FF7R Orchestra Concert goods. You can buy them here (international shipping available) for anyone interested!
Why they gotta make it look all dramatic like it's actual NEWS NEWS LOL?? There's like a "breaking news" intro outro that says "FF7 REMAKE NEWS" and a news anchor to announce it too haha.
Next is Tifa meeting with Cloud in front of the apartment. Scene after that is Tifa looking at the children ghost drawings on the wall. Then of Aerith and Tifa both grabbing onto Cloud's arm as they walk through the Train Graveyard together.
Interesting, the footage they use for this song is primarily from Chapter 11's train graveyard. Very interesting choice. I was expecting Nibelheim flashbacks haha.
The song Hurry! is next, and it's scenes from Chapter 12 where AVALANCHE are fighting the Shinra soldier helicopters as Cloud scales the pillar and gets fired at by Reno and Rude.
Scene of Aerith going through Sector 7 to look for Marlene. Then Cloud and Tifa joining Barret at the top of the pillar. Reno and Rude coming in by helicopter as Reno jumps out and fights Cloud and co.
Next of Reno and Rude defeated, Reno falling unconscious, Rude pushing the button to dismantle the plate, then of Aerith in the video footage with Tseng that plays at the pillar. Follows up with Cloud, Tifa, and Barret escaping the pillar with the zip line.
Oh nice! A video message from Arnie Roth! He apologizes for not being able to join in person, and he mentions the pandemic has forced them to reschedule the concert dates. He's excited that they were still able to make this Tokyo concert happen (via livestream).
Arnie Roth praising Uematsu's composition of the original songs. He thanks the musicians and conductors as well as many thanks to Square Enix. He says he can't wait to be in Japan with us again.
Shows Jessie holding onto Cloud on the bike as they ride through the tunnel. Then of Jessie with Biggs and Wedge at her house eating pizza while Cloud waits outside.
Next song is Shinra's Theme! Shows sweeping footage of Shinra Building. Then the parking lot area. Next Cloud looking up at the Shinra building with Tifa and Barret behind him.
The percussion person is taking a bunch of chains and dropping it in beat against a metal plate, creating the marching sound. That's SO COOL and metal lol.
Starts off with visuals of Barret, Aerith, and Red XIII fighting against the Arsenal. Also shows a bunch of monsters you meet in the Shinra building, such as the experiment thing (forgot the name).
OH! Wow they're playing a bit of the Opening Medley lines in this part! Nice.
It cuts to now a bunch of encounters with Sephiroth, like him pushing Cloud onto the floor in front of the apartment, their meeting at Sector 8, Sector 5.
More Cloud getting headaches, Aerith holding his hand after his headache episode in Chapter 5. Cloud seeing Sephiroth in President Shinra's office carrying Jenova to the top of the building.
There's a full chorus that sings the ending part- it's like how they end with Barret's monologue in Chapter 18. Wow that was so beautiful, I might have shed a tear.
Guh, my connection kinda freaked out for a second, so I missed the 2nd half of Hamauzu's message. The part where it cut back in is where he says he hopes we all enjoy the concert to the end.
Just a bunch of battle footage against the Arbiters right now. And then everyone facing off against the Whisper Harbinger as well as the other 3 Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo Whispers.
"Shine bright" lyrics part with footage of Cloud and Aerith high five during the Colisseum, Reno and Rude in the helicopter together, Cloud grabbing onto Tifa's hand as she goes up the stairs, Barret and Marlene hugging.
There's no footage that accompanies this song so far. It makes the music so much more powerful and allows you to reflect on the game and everything it's about. Wow, yup, I'm definitely crying right now lol.
Oh...oh no...it's the most beautiful part of the FF7R Orchestral Arrangement version of the Main Theme where the chorus kicks in. Oh mannnnn the tears lol....
Basically all footage is Sephiroth montage, Sephiroth seeing Jenova, Tifa saying "I'm sick of this!", Cloud getting a headache and Tifa tries to comfort him as they see Sephiroth at the Drum. Cloud walks slowly up to Sephiroth at the Drum.
That was an amazing concert though. It was such a ride, and thank you everyone for tuning in. Slightly disappointed they didn't end with any new PC or PS5 information, but I suppose I will monitor later today to see if there's updates!
Thank you everyone for tuning into my FF7R Orchestra Concert live tweet thread. It's unfortunate they didn't announce any news of a PS5/PC version, but hopefully more info gets released soon! #FF7ROC
I know some of you out there were watching the FF7R Orchestra Concert live on Nicovideo too, so if anyone has a thread on how to access the website while living outside of Japan, please let me know so I can share it with everyone as well!
I will also have a FF7R Orchestra Concert review later tonight where I'll talk about details of the concert and answering any questions anyone might have, so I'll let you know when the stream is live.
Rewatched the Hollow song- Barret & Marlene aren't hugging- it's instead the scene w/ Marlene sleeping in the bed and Barret watches over her with lyrics "smile bright once more."
The part where Cloud reaches for Tifa's hand at the stairs is the lyrics "guide me to you." #FF7ROC
The part with Reno and Rude in the helicopter is in between the lyrics "shine bright once more" and "guide me to you" and Jessie dying is in between "guide me to you" and "smile bright once more."
The Square Enix Music official page has released a screenshot of what the special program looks like. This one is of Cloud and it asks the question (to Toriyama):
"What was the reason you had when making this song to use mainly during battle scenes?"
FF7R Producer Kitase and Co-Director Hamaguchi talked a bit about Part 2 during the CEDEC conference! Here's the excerpt's translation.
Kitase mentions for Part 2, they want to deliver something that will live up to everyone's expectations but also throw them off, in a good way.
It took me a while to translate Kitase's quote because I was having trouble finding the right words to translate 「いい意味で裏切る」(literally "a betrayal in a good way"). I interpreted it as surprising the audience by going beyond their expectations but to "throw them off."
Here's the Japanese transcription of that part of his quote: そこには原作知ってるからこそ思ったものを届けられる場合もあれば、もっと「あ、こうなってたんだ」の驚きもあったり、期待に答えるのといい意味で裏切るのとっていうのを原作があるからこそ、そこうまく表現し楽しみに変えられる作品
All right CEDEC+ Kyushu 2020 Online, let's see what interesting info about the FF7R development Kitase and Hamaguchi have to say!
I'll post highlights or interesting info starting now! The event has started, and you can sign up here to get the event link: peatix.com/event/1750894/…
MC Question: How did the Remake become an actual thing?
Kitase: It was a decision made after speaking with Nomura and Hashimoto. In particular, Hashimoto mentioned he always wanted to make a game like Advent Children, and it became a project after much discussion.
Kitase says that tons of people thought that the first PV for FF7R was for another movie, but when they put the FF7 Meteor logo at the end, he thinks lots of people probably lost their minds that it would be a game lol.
Interesting bits from a 15 page interview on FF7R that's released in tomorrow's Famitsu:
-The next installment is already in full development
-They couldn't go further with the Madam M massage scene otherwise ratings would go up
-Roche was supposed to have a battle in Ch. 14
Just gonna reply to this thread with a compilation of other new info tidbits:
Boku No Hero Academia Spin Off -Team Up Mission- Chapter 1 Summary thread! Class 1A aren't divided into teams just yet, but they're currently patrolling along with All Might in the city when they encounter a little boy called Tsuyoshi, who's quirk is he can harden his hair.
Characters that make an appearance in this chapter, which is only 19 pages, are the following:
Other characters are the villains that stole Tsuyoshi's soccer ball.
The chapter starts off with Tsuyoshi approached by a group of thugs that threaten him and steal his ball, but he's saved by All Might (in his muscle form). AM introduces himself and Deku to Tsuyoshi, but then he loses his muscle form and Deku explains that this is the real AM.
