INBOX: Mississippi congressman sues Trump & Giuliani for incitement over Capitol riot.
The suit by Rep Bennie Thompson & the NAACP accuses Trump & Giuliani of conspiring w/the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys to disrupt the Electoral College certification on Jan. 6.

A reminder now that Giuliani has been sued w/Trump for conspiring w/the Proud Boys & Oath Keepers to incite the Capitol riot:
It's been 3 weeks since Dominion sued him for defamation and he still has no attorney of record listed in the case.

Those weapons have definitely not shown up in charging doc yet.
But...pay attention to 21-cr-35 in DC, a partly sealed indictment w/at least 3 named defendants, according to magistrate's files: Peter Stager, the flagpole beater; Jeffrey Sabol & Michael Lopatic Sr. (????)
When you look up Lopatic, for example, you find a newly filed detention memo saying that he not only punched a cop repeatedly, but stole body camera of another cop and disposed of it, destroying evidence, prosecutors say.

In the last two days, the US attorney's office in DC has staffed up the Oath Keepers conspiracy case with 3 new prosecutors.
There are only three defendants at this point, perhaps suggesting more charges are pending. Image
John E. Sullivan of Utah was sent home after the Capitol riot even though he was charged w/breaking into the bldg in tactical gear & filming & cheering other rioters.
Now prosecutors want him in jail, saying he violated his release by appearing on Infowars & denying any regrets. Image

BREAKING: Another Proud Boy leader has been arrested in connection w/the Capitol attack.
Prosecutors announced charges against ETHAN NORDEAN of Washington who was marched with Joe Biggs on Jan. 6
Nordean had been under close investigation for more than a week after prosecutors saw video of him leading a mob of about 100 Proud Boys toward the Capitol.

Prosecutors say Nordean, the sergeant at arms of the Seattle PBs, wrote before the riot, "...We are coming for them...Black and yellow teamed with red, white and blue against everyone else.”
After the riot, he posted: “If you feel bad for the police, you are part of the problem."

The FBI says Ryan Samsel, of Bristol PA, was in a mob that assaulted a Capitol police officer in a confrontation at a barricade. "We don't have to hurt you," Samsel said, according to the officer. "Why are you standing in our way?"
The officer later blacked out, was hospitalized. Image

A few thoughts on last night's Proud Boys conspiracy charges having now read the indictment.
1. The govt alleges at least for now a conspiracy that lasted only 1 day. Perhaps they'll supersede w/more info. But at present, they're not accusing the defendants of much preplanning.
That said, govt is alleging the two defendants, Dominic Pezzola & William Pepe, conspired w/others "known & unknown to the grand jury," which means 1. There's a grand jury (apparently) still investigating and 2. There could easily be more charges on this indictment.
Here the govt seems to suggest that Pezzola & Pepe were part of the 100ish strong gang of PBs that mustered in DC on Jan. 6 & marched on the Capitol under the leadership of Joe Biggs. Biggs has been charged in a separate case on a complaint. Will the two cases merge?
