Finally, here’s the *EASY* Steps to becoming a United States Registered Nurse🇺🇸

It’s a long thread, but that’s because I tried to make it nice and easy for you, so bookmark for reference.

Retweet and Tag as many Nurses as you know who might be interested.

#USRN 🇺🇸
STEP 1 ; You have to be a Registered Nurse with valid practicing license and at least 1year post-qualification experience in a at least 100 bedded hospital/institution, worked in the particular ward Or department for a minimum of 3months!& possess a valid international Passport!
For IELTS & immigration purposes, you’re taking, the ACADEMIC IELTS wt 6.5 overall!& at least 7 in speaking

STEP 2
Then, Register with Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools,(CGFNS) for credentials evaluation of secondary education, nursing education & licensure
in order to take NCLEX. their website: cgfns.org
NB; have all your academic record with you to make it easier, as the form is a bit tedious. Once you’re done, proceed to paying for Credential Evaluation Service (CES) this is the report prepared by CGFNS, the evaluation fee is $350
Apply for your license verification from your country’s Nursing & midwifery council, which is
to be sent directly to CGFNS, If you’re also a UK registered nurse, you’ll in addition, apply for a Certificate of current professional status through your nmc online account, costs £34
STEP 3
Apply for your transcript (which is a record of your academic performance from your school of Nursing or University to be sent *directly to CGFNS, cost depends on your institution.
STEP 4
Now, pick a state in USA where you will like to work, and Register with their Board of Nursing (BON) ( simply google the Board you’re interested in, and create a portal to start your application) do this while you’re still waiting on your CGFNS report
Below is the list of States that are ideal for International Nurses.

•Texas
•New York
•Illinois
•West Virginia
•Montana
•Colorado

Some of these states also have what they now call a *compact license*, this means you can practice in another state
asides the one you’ve applied to, you normally would only be allowed to practice in the states you registered with.

NB; If you chose Texas, you’ll be required to sit the Nursing Jurisprudence exam(NJE) (50 questions, 2hours, 75% pass mark)
$58
this exam is about the laws and ethics that guides the nursing profession in the USA and in the state of TEXAS. (Don’t worry too much about it, during the exam, you can access a link that directs you to a material that has answers to the questions asked😉)
STEP 5
Next, is the Criminal Background Check; this is the part where you have your fingerprints taken on a card ( which you can request from your BON, free, takes 4 weeks to be delivered) it’s then sent back for security checks! Through a secure provider called “identoGO”
( they work with the FBI to run your fingerprints through their database to find out if you’ve ever been involved in a crime) if you’re in Nigeria, it might take a longer time before you get the card for the fingerprint, so you can buy it from 3rd parties who will charge you
for fast track* like Decency Academy (they’re on Telegram) (if you know any other trustworthy one, please suggest🙏🏻)

STEP 6
Register for your NCLEX with Pearson Vue via a direct link provided on your Nursing Board portal and wait for your Authorization to test (ATT) fee is $200
if you’re writing outside the US, you’ll have to pay an extra $150 ( so $350) total

STEP 7
Once you get your Authorization To Test(ATT), you can choose a date & schedule 4 ur exam via Pearson Vue website. You can sit the exam in London, Philippines & most recently South Africa
So you apply for the country’s visa via their immigration, depending on your exam location choice, you will also need to book hotel, flight, etc...

This is also the part where you spend the most!
STEP 8
Once you pass your NCLEX, (Congratulations! You’re now a USRN! Start the job search! reach out to US nursing jobs recruitment agencies to start your visa application process ( Visa type, EB-3 visa) and job search.
They all come with different packages.
Popular agencies :-

Avant
PassportUSA
O’gradypeyton
Shearwater
Medpro International

NB;you can reach out to ths agencies at the initial stage of your registration, if you don’t have the financial capability,
it might just slow down your process a bit... The whole process takes about 12-18months, “all things being equal”

STEP last...
When una reach USA, send me some $ as owo omo onile. Thainchu

Kindly RT for Awareness!

Thread 🧵 ImageImage
Although Tampons are very affordable, convenient and easy to use, you can even use while swimming, but when used by someone with poor menstrual hygiene things can go south

It increases the risk of exposure to bacterial infections and can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome (TTS)
TTS, is caused by a bacteria known as Staphylococcus aureus, which ascends into the blood stream and introduce harmful toxins to blood 🩸 circulation.

Risk factors
*use of super absorbent Tampons
*using for longer hours
*low quality tampon that can cause vagina irritation

So a friend shared her Terrible Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) story with me and wanted me to share this with others. As she had no idea that;

Not all period pain is “DYSMENORRHEA”

Follow this thread carefully and retweet for others to learn on your timeline.

Thread 🧵...
She said; “Growing up in Nigeria, every time she complained of menstrual pain, she gets prescribed medications without further investigation.

Whereas all along what she had was Endometriosis which she recently discovered.
ENDOMETRIOSIS is a long term painful condition where tissues similar to the lining of the womb (Endometrium) starts to grow in other structures around the womb like the ovaries and the Fallopian tubes( looks like hands of the womb). Affects women of childbearing age.

If you have attempted IELTS more than 2x you should consider taking OET! The reason why we have a lot of INDIANS and PHILIPPINE nurses here in the UK is because most of them take OET instead of IELTS.

Stop letting IELTS stand between you and your UK goal.

Pls RT!
An Indian can’t even speak half as good as an average Nigerian English speaker. Not talk of write / compose a complex sentence!

If you’re interested in taking OET, send me a dm. Stop dashing Idp and BC money! Money is not easy to come by!

Stop allowing makeup artists apply makeup & makeup spray over your breast! All in the name of making you glow! Glow spray, makeup moisturizers and other makeup products contain two chemicals that can cause *Breast Cancer*!!!

Please RT for awareness!
Parabens are commonly used as preservatives in many cosmetic products & shaving creams. They can penetrate the skin and act like a very weak estrogen in the body hereby causing growth of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancers.
Phthalates are makeup preservatives that can disrupt the normal balance of other hormones that interact with estrogen. A disruption in hormonal levels can trigger cancer growth.

Always check your makeup products contents to be sure they are safe for your skin.

6 things you should never put on your breast!

1, Bleaching Cream
2, soaps that have alcohol in them
3, Cheap silicon glue
4, Cheap Silicon bra
5, Double sided tape
6, Hair removal cream/waxing cream.

Kindly Retweet for awareness!
But I have hairs all over my nipple so how do I take them out without waxing cream?

Having hair on your nipple is normal and that’s fine, but if you’re concerned about it then the best way to get rid of them is simply plucking them out. Waxing cream causes nipple infection.
Why shouldn’t we use moisturizers on the breast?

skin of the breast is very sensitive and easily irritated by moisture. Exposing it to some chemical components of the moisturizer as also been proven to cause “Breast Cancer” due to disruption of the normal female hormone levels.
