Jer 6:16 - we are instructed to stand, thats one way to rest, by obeying God's Instruction and trusting that while He asks us to stand still, he'll be working on our behalf.

...and in Psalms 46:10 this word is reiterated, so from this we know that to find rest, we need to step out of the normal flow of activities and trust God's way of stillness.

In 1sam 13:8-14, we see Saul who got tired of staying still, he got tired of waiting for prophet Samuel to come before offering the sacrifice, and he lost the kingdom.

Incidentally, Samuel came just immediately after he offered the sacrifice - Wait! God is never late.

When we take decisions that are not in obedience to God, we lose the gifts of His kingdom (gotten from the story of Saul offering the sacrifice in disobedience)

Isaiah 30:15 - when you wait on God, you receive strength for the assignment that He will have you do, that way, you are not relying on your own strength.

The 2nd way to God's rest is to See and ask - Jer 6:16

When you walk with God and ask Him for clarity every step of the way, you will experience His rest.

James 1:22-25

Don't just ask God questions and remain idle, work with what He has told you, get into action and fulfil the assignment that you've been given, that is the true way to find rest for your soul.
