When you're a popular political pundit not connected to a major media outlet, the mainstream media frequently spreads lies about you, for competitive reasons or out of resentment. Then dummies (on the left and right) parrot those lies, because they think it makes them look smart.
Then the con artists who make things like "bias charts" see a chance to rank you dead last, even if you're great at what you do. They know you don't have corporate lawyers to fight back. And if you call out their con artistry, it looks like you're just mad you got ranked poorly.
Ever wonder why these "bias charts" always simplistically paint the largest media outlets as being the most accurate? They know the major media outlets will then promote them and their chart, because the chart makes them look good.
Then the same folks who naively believe every single word the mainstream media feeds them without ever questioning it, think they're making themselves look smart by promoting some idiotically simplistic phony "bias chart" with a laughably perfect bell curve.
If you're a political pundit not connected to a major media outlet, 20% of your job consists of defending yourself against the lies that the media and con artists spread about you. If you fail to do it, people believe those lies, and won't give your political analysis a chance.
Those of you reading this already know Palmer Report is consistently proven more accurate than the mainstream media, or you wouldn't be following this account. But many other liberals mistakenly believe Palmer Report is fake news, because the media and con artists told them so.
When they spread these kinds of lies about someone like me, it's aimed at poisoning the well, so I can't grow my audience any larger than it already is. That way anyone who isn't already reading me, mistakenly thinks Palmer Report is some kind of fake news outlet.
If you think Palmer Report is beneficial to political activism and discourse, wouldn't it be even more beneficial if Palmer Report could reach even more people like you? That's why it's so harmful that so many liberals have been told that Palmer Report is some kind of fake news.
Keep in mind that none of this has ANYTHING to do with left vs right, democrat vs republican. This is entirely about the mainstream media's desire to kneecap up and comers, whom they see a competition. That's why most of the lies about me come from liberal mainstream media.
You saw the lie-filled attack piece the media wrote about Seth Abramson last week. I've had a dozen of those written about me, by mainstream media outlets, all of them liberal leaning. Accordingly, most liberals out there think Palmer Report is shit and won't give us a chance.
So whenever you encounter someone on our side of the political fence who is mistakenly expressing negative views about Palmer Report, or posting laughable "bias charts" or whatever the con artist scam of the week is, I really appreciate it when you correct the record for them.
If you're not the type to jump into that kind of debate, that's totally understandable. But in such case, I'll ask you not to lecture me whenever I defend myself against lies. You may already be sold on me, but I have to correct the lies about me in order to grow my audience.
It's not about my well being. Palmer Report's audience is already more than large enough to sustain me, so to speak. But if Palmer Report can reach even more people, it can do even more good for our cause. We're all in this together. Thanks.
