The New Peoples- Being and Becoming Metis - Jacqueline Peterson and Jennifer SH Brown - Big M Little m. theory is a theory written and advanced by The Metis National Council itself . Just because it says so, does not make it so. The court has already said that in the McCargar
V MNA case./ the Metis Nation of Alberta is a society registered in the society's act. It is neither sovereign or governmental. One can resign from the association and still be Metis. Bylaws and terms ( such as theories as this one) only apply to the communities governed by MNC.
It is a private voluntary body bound by the provision of IT'S bylaws. It is true that much of the terminology of the Associations bylaws are redolent of sovereign government, just saying that does not make it so.

@CdnEncyclopedia So as you can see, this article has a serious Bias slant to it , please fix it . MMF is a separation from Status Indians, BCANSI is separation from Status Indians, all the Metis and NonStatus groups were a result of separating from the Status Indian groups,
National Indian Brotherhood represented the Status Indians and the Canadian Metis Socieity represented "Nationally" all Metis and NonStatus Indians "coast to coast". Canadian Metis Society evolved into the Native Council of Canada in the 70's, that is who repatriated the Metis
into the Canadian Constitution in 1982, Metis National Council split into their own group in 1983, and incorporated into a non profit society in 1985. / So if you are wondering like the rest of us, who gave them all this POWER to say who is Metis and who isn't? Think this
This is so rich, just one example of how they try and twist history, lol

Lets look at this another way shall we -- "Indigenous" people: "French Canadian". Remember that "French-Canadian"= French Canadian. French Canadian=French descent. French descent=white. White ≠ Indigenous / Do we all see how ridiculous this is? Yes .. 🤣 "Most people tend to
