.@SenatorSinema is doubling down on her support of the #filibuster in emails to constituents today. 🧵
At the same time Sinema argues that she cares more about process than policies that help people or restoring our democracy for the people, the Arizona legislature leads the nation in proposed voter suppression bills. ktar.com/story/4055489/…
And it's a crisis. "Some of the 19 proposals would limit or eliminate no-excuse absentee ballots, make it harder to obtain an absentee ballot, impose stricter ID requirements and even give the legislature the right to pick presidential electors despite election results."
The #ForThePeople Act, or S.1 in the Senate, would combat much of these Republican attempts to further entrench their power and destroy our democracy. @SenatorSinema supported S.1 last Congress.
She has a choice. The reality is that these critical democracy protections have NO PATH to 60 votes in the Senate. Period. So unless she changes her stance on eliminating the filibuster, she's on record caring more about arcane Senate rules than she does our democracy.
.@SenatorSinema you can save democracy or save the filibuster, but you can't do both.
Arizona: make a call today and tell the Senator her position is untenable. Ask her how she plans to get S.1 done. And then tell her to eliminate the filibuster. indivisible.org/demand-your-se…
P.S. With all the voter suppression laws in the leg in Arizona, another worthwhile question is how @SenatorSinema thinks she is going to win and continue to represent the people of Arizona if the state makes it harder for folks to vote.
If you live in AZ, text Arizona to 977-79 and get connected directly to Sinema's office (and you'll get to hear a message from me on what you should say). Or, call 1-877-847-4809. @SenatorSinema has the chance to save democracy. Really, the only question is if she'll take it.

Folks came out in record numbers to choose a government of, by, and for the people and elect @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. The people decided. The election is over. And it's time for us to move forward as a country.
But, why would we think Trump enablers would stop now? Hundreds — led by @RonJohnsonWI, who is up for reelection in '22 btw — are still pursuing a last-ditch, undemocratic effort to undermine the certification of the results on Wednesday. jsonline.com/story/news/sol…
They are spewing baseless conspiracies and eroding voters' trust in our institutions and in the process. And it's literally costing lives — when our country is in dire need of stable leadership as the COVID-19 pandemic rages.
Former congressional Comms Director here. I cannot overstate how impactful letters to the editor are in the fight to win on a policy or a bill. Here's why. (Thread)
Every morning, someone like me puts together an email to your members of Congress on all the news stories that mention them or are about "live" issues in newspapers within the district. Every. Single. Morning.
Part of this always includes letters to the editor from constituents in hometown papers. Always. In fact, I used to write letters back to people from the congressman I worked for.
