@gummibear737 @EthicalSkeptic @MichaelPSenger @Covid19Crusher @EduEngineer @AbdenurFlavio I think, as humans we have difficulty with many issues of logic, probably primed by primitive instincts. We cannot distinguish between stories of grief and tragedy, and the actual risks.

This pandemic, the propaganda and repression of honest discussion have created a huge distortion in the dialog and perceptions. Add the authoritarian attitude of suddenly relevant officials and we have had a perfect storm. I had COVID19 and am older.

My case, clinically, was relatively mild. However, I have had a variety of lingering sequelae. Mild to severe headaches, bouts of overwhelming fatigue, loss of smell/taste and abnormal small vessel inflammation in several locations in my body.

That said, pandemics will be pandemics. I am glad I did not die, I am frustrated by symptoms that have been on-going for months but life continues.

We also see a culture wide escalation of fear. Life itself, is 100% fatal. Are we living the way we are designed to live?

It is difficult to comprehend how people that crossed oceans where 1-10% died, or had families suffering through the deaths of many children, or had maternal death rates higher than COVID19 persisting until the 1950s managed to have descendants paralyzed by such low risk.

How, at the same time, do we tolerate reckless authoritarian leadership making it much worse. Forced use of meaningless masks(I believe properly used and designed PPE make a difference). A year of education/socialization stolen from our children.

Putting the sick in extended care facilities, denying access to drugs that show significant promise and wrecking untold havoc on our economies. Be sensitive to those that are grieving, support efforts to save people, and protect the vulnerable.

We became strong with bravery, freedom, honest open debate and common sense. We seem to be ready to throw it all away. Get out of the way of reasonable treatments, open the economy back up before we pass the point our world cannot recover and get rid of the tyrants.
