Why are schools still slut-shaming girls and not shaming the teachers and students who sexualize the girls clothes?

When will schools make those teachers and students - usually men and boys - reflect on why a girl’s clothes make them “uncomfortable” & what that says about them, rather than punishing girls because teachers and boys aren’t socialized to fucking be responsible for own feelings?

Look at how early victim blaming starts and how early girls are taught they’re responsible for how men and boys sexualize them and look at how patriarchy enables and entitles men and boys to control girls bodies.

And schools that send girls home because they made teachers and students “uncomfortable” are of course assuming everyone is heterosexual.

And when it’s female teachers doing patriarchy’s bidding - as I’m told was the case here - by policing the bodies of girls, it’s a reminder that some women are Footsoldiers of the Patriarchy.

We are socialized and we internalize this fuckery.

The Global Early Adolescent Study, above, has shown that girls across the world are taught that their bodies are both an asset & a target. They must cover up & stay away from boys if they want to keep themselves safe from sexual assault, and if they're assaulted it's their fault

I say all of the above as someone who has worked very hard and fought for years to overcome the "modesty" that was socialized into me.

Fuck "modesty." It is usually if not exclusively used to police the bodies of cis girls and women and femmes by cis/heteronormative patriarchy
