There is another major political party in Ontario, (you may have heard of it, it’s the @OntLiberal party) but they have yet to issue a news release about the changes to Ontario’s election finance laws, more then four hours after they were tabled. #onpoli

@ontarioisproud Doubling the maximum each person can donate annually would likely benefit the @OntarioPCParty the most, as the PCs have far more individual donors who've given at/near the $1,650 annual limit than the other parties. #onpoli
@ontarioisproud @OntarioPCParty Doug Ford promised to scrap the taxpayer-funded per-vote allowance to political parties. It was due to expire this year. Instead, Ford's government is actually increasing the yearly subsidies:

NEW: Ontario's vaccination booking platform will not be launched until March 15, says retired general Rick Hillier. He said the province is "furiously working" on it. #COVID19Ontario

Vaccinations for people over age 80 living in the community will begin in the 3rd week of March, says Hillier. (Other provinces beginning this age group next week.)
Start dates for other age groups:
April 15: 75+
May 1: 70+
June 1: 65+

No timeline yet for vaccinations in other age groups, or for non-health-care essential workers, people with underlying medical conditions, or people living in higher-risk neighbourhoods. Hillier says everything is dependent on supply of vaccines. #COVID19Ontario

Premier Ford is calling on the federal govt to take further action to prevent travel-related cases of #COVID19. Ontario news release: "1.8% of all COVID cases are related to international travel". Graph shows travel is only category that hasn't increased at exponential rate.
Travel is responsible for an even tinier portion of Ontario's second wave of #COVID19.
My math shows travel-related cases make up just 1.0% of the roughly 216,000 new cases reported since Sept. 1.

The province counts travel-related cases as "Individuals who travelled outside of Ontario within 14 days before their symptoms began" so that means the numbers would not include people who got directly infected by a returning traveler here. #COVID19Ontario

Ontario's #COVID19 vaccine distribution task force says residents, workers and essential caregivers in all long-term care homes *across the province* and all high-risk retirement homes are to get a first dose of vaccine by Feb 15. #COVID19Ontario
NEW: Ontario is *considering* whether to extend the interval between 1st & 2nd vaccine doses. Nat'l Advisory Committee on Immunization says provs could consider extending up to 6 weeks, given limited supply, urgency of protecting vulnerable, initial dose having 90%+ efficacy.
