@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy In our first conversation, I pointed out the difference between credit scores as self-fulfilling prophecies about people's ability to roll over their debts based on future access to credit, and underwriting loans based on fundamentals.
@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy (Her plan involved making special exceptions to the former but not doing anything about the structural features of the system that create privilege classes, and I wanted to point out that the bigger, more profitable, and more systemic-change-oriented opportunity is the latter.)
@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy She responded by pretending such ignorance about lending that I found myself trying to explain that you might lend some grain to a farmer, so they could plant it to grow more, pay you back with interest, and still have some grain left over.

@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy That night she called the impoverished formerly incarcerated African-American woman who'd introduced us, drunk and crying, complaining that I'd been mean to her and that she never drinks so she was embarrassed to have gone to a liquor store to drown her sorrows in response.
@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy N's theory of lending implied that disprivileged people are inherently uncreditworthy and can only be lent to via special favors like a special, charitably rigged credit score. But N's class performance rendered her in need of coddling, mentally incompetent to handle criticism.
@HiFromMichaelV @wolftivy N almost certainly has a higher credit score than the black woman she conspicuously performed dependency on by demanding hours of emotional support
