Trump's close allies run CPAC. They set it up to be one big Trump worship session. Yet even among CPAC attendees, only 55% say Trump is their first choice for 2024. The other 45% of CPAC attendees have already moved on from him. Trump's relevance is fading, even within his base.
If just 55% of CPAC attendees see Trump as their first choice now, that number will drop even lower as time goes on and other candidates gain more name recognition and momentum. It'll go even lower than that once Trump is inevitably arrested in New York, and so on.
This means the GOP has a real problem. It’s still focused on propping up Trump’s ghost, when so many voters – even on the Republican side of the fence – would rather move on to a new bullshitter instead.
It also means the left potentially has a problem. If it continues spending every day fretting over Trump’s ghost making a magic comeback in 2024, it risks overlooking the threat posed by the new Republican bullshitters on the rise, one of whom will likely be the 2024 GOP nominee.
And no, it isn’t going to be Ron DeSantis. He’s hilariously in over his head, and may not even survive his own 2022 reelection bid.

The 2024 Republican nominee will likely be someone who wasn’t even a part of the Trump era and therefore doesn’t have to take a side regarding him.
Trump came out of nowhere in 2016 and succeeded in the Republican primary partly because he was new and didn’t have to answer for George W. Bush’s failures and unpopularity.

Look for the 2024 republican nominee to similarly be an outsider who doesn’t have to answer for Trump.

You’d have to have a political IQ of zero to think that “Biden didn’t wave a magic wand and send MBS through a trap door this week” means that Biden isn’t doing anything about MBS. Effective solutions are sophisticated. This is the world political stage, not kindergarten.
When you look at how many liberal pundits are pushing this tripe, and you consider they can’t all be that clueless, you realize most of them are just dishonestly attacking Biden to try to score cheap points with the “left wants to eat itself” crowd. In other words they’re frauds.
And while Jake Tapper is better than the average CNN host, he’s completely in the wrong on this matter. The fact that Meghan McCain agrees with him should give him pause.

Neera Tanden spoke the ugly truth about the right and the fringe left. Both groups then falsely scandalized her, and the media turned it into a circus for ratings.

The most "controversial" thing to be these days is a mainstream liberal, even though it's what most Americans are.
I know, because the exact same thing happened to me, for the exact same reasons.
If you're on the fringe left, or anywhere on the right, the media treats you with kid gloves and normalizes you.

If you're a mainstream liberal, the right and the fringe left obsessively target you with lies, and the media then targets you for ratings. Happens every time.

If physically putting a Neera Tanden tweet in Lisa Murkowski's face for a reaction is what the mainstream media considers journalism, so be it. I just want to know why, in four years, mainstream media never once physically put a Trump tweet in the face of a Republican Senator.
In fact we all know the answer: the mainstream media is ten times harder on the left than it is on the right, because that's the only way to give people in the middle the impression that they're being equally hard on the left and right.
By stacking the deck to give the false impression that the left and right are equal, the mainstream media is implicitly biased in favor of the right. It's always been that way.

If you just say what's really going on, you're wrongly accused of being biased in favor of the left.

Joe Manchin sucks. But as liberal activists, we've got to be smarter in how we approach this, because right now we're blowing in every way possible. We're randomly foaming at the mouth about him, without understanding what's really going on. Read this thread.
Many of you are fantasizing about primarying Manchin. This would be suicide. Any Democrat but Manchin would lose to the Republican candidate in West Virgina. So we'd end up with a far right Republican Senator who votes against us 100% of the time. That would be a total fail.
If you truly believe in the fantasy of primarying Manchin from the left, and then having that candidate somehow magically win a Senate general election in deep red West Virginia, then you either have a political IQ of zero or you're on drugs. Let go of this hallucination.

You know why we liberals lose so many battles we should win? It's because we waste our time spinning every win into a loss we can lament over. Merrick Garland is about to be a fantastic Attorney General, yet a ton of liberals are lamenting over him not being on the Supreme Court.
Garland is days away from being in position to fix everything that's wrong with the DOJ and put half of Trump's orbit in prison. Yet the fact that he's going to be great at it is... something to lament over? You've really got to reach to spin that win into a loss.
The more time the left spends convincing itself that it's always losing, the harder it becomes for the left to win. At some point winning seems impossible, so you stop trying. And winning stops being desirable, because getting to lament over a loss is preferable.

When you're a popular political pundit not connected to a major media outlet, the mainstream media frequently spreads lies about you, for competitive reasons or out of resentment. Then dummies (on the left and right) parrot those lies, because they think it makes them look smart.
Then the con artists who make things like "bias charts" see a chance to rank you dead last, even if you're great at what you do. They know you don't have corporate lawyers to fight back. And if you call out their con artistry, it looks like you're just mad you got ranked poorly.
Ever wonder why these "bias charts" always simplistically paint the largest media outlets as being the most accurate? They know the major media outlets will then promote them and their chart, because the chart makes them look good.
