Georgia's GOP-controlled House just passed #HB531 by a 97-72 vote. Among other voting restrictions, HB531 would limit location & hours of drop boxes, reduce early weekend voting, prohibits giving food/drink to voters waiting in line.
Bill goes to State Senate now.
For those asking about part about giving food/drink to voters in line:
"nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector"

A divided Supreme Court said Monday that ballots in Wisconsin could be counted only if they are received by Election Day amidst the pandemic, dealing a victory to the Republican-led Wisconsin state legislature.
The vote was 5-3, @Arianedevogue reports.
Democrats in Wisconsin had asked the court to allow the counting of ballots that arrive up to six days after Election Day if they were postmarked by Election Day.

A federal appeals court had ruled in favor of the Republicans.
Justice Elena Kagan, joined by her liberal colleagues, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer dissented from the court’s order. “As the COVID pandemic rages,” Kagan wrote, “the Court has failed to adequately protect the Nation’s voters.”

So, @BubbaWallace didn’t report the noose, never even saw the noose. NASCAR President Steve Phelps informed Bubba about it, hours after it was found— shortly before telling the media in a statement.

This was the “garage pull” NASCAR said it found in (only) the 43 garage

This is what a member of Bubba Wallace’s 43 team found in their garage stall at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday afternoon

FBI determined it had been up since at least 2019 and that Wallace was not targeted.

NASCAR about to address media again
NASCAR says it has now completed its own investigation.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps:

“What we saw was a symbol of hate in the garage”

“Our initial reaction was to protect our driver”

“In hindsight, I should have used the word alleged in our statement”
NASCAR President Steve Phelps said they checked the garage area and no other stall had a rope tied like that.

Phelps says NASCAR has since swept 1,648 garage stalls at 29 tracks and found 11 total pull down ropes tied in knots, of those only one was a noose

Jordan Anchondo died shielding her 2-month-old son from gunfire in El Paso- her aunt, Liz Terry, told CNN. The baby survived.

The 24 y/o mother of three was shopping for back to school supplies when she was murdered.

Her husband, Andre Anchondo, is still unaccounted for.
This quote from Jordan Anchondo’s aunt Liz Terry:

"The baby still had her blood on him. You watch these things and see these things and you never think this is going to happen to your family. How do parents go school shopping and then die shielding their baby from bullets?"
“We are just hoping and praying we find Andre alive. Any little hope that we can hold on to, that's what we are doing."

Their baby was hurt-broken bones-but family expects he will be physically ok.
