For many, the attached short story will read like gibberish. To me, it reads like the future.

When I started @satoshiscloset_ with my friend @kitdesai as a side project in 2019, it was something of an experiment...

... to explore and play with the relationship between digital and physical goods using a facet of crypto technology called NFT's (non-fungible tokens). You can think of #NFT's as cryptoassets rather than cryptocurrency.

Each #NFT is a unique digital object that exists on a blockchain and can be held by the owner of a crypto wallet. Much like physical objects they are produced in finite quantities, so limited editions are commonplace in the NFT world and help create the supply & demand mechanics

... that are necessary for a market to function. To date, NFT's have mostly proliferated as CryptoArt pieces and digital collectibles (like MLB crypto bobbleheads, or CryptoKitties). As more use cases for NFT's emerge and mature...

... they will become increasingly valuable components within our global technology and internet infrastructure, as well as within the larger world of commerce, given that cryptoassets are inherently transactable using cryptocurrency.

Put another way: The Internet is to the 1990's what #Crypto is to the 2020's.

Using @satoshiscloset_ as our vehicle, we sought out to explore the intersection between #crypto and the physical world using apparel as our platform. We created the world's first #NFT t-shirt & the world's first NFT #apparel drop in 2019 (we still have some shirts left, DM me).

We were among the earliest explorers of this space, one that has since begun to explode while still flying under the radar of mainstream awareness and comprehension. We may have been ahead of our time, but the world did not stand still.

After our public launch in 2019, the world experienced a global health crisis, economic upheaval, and political and social unrest largely unparalleled in our lifetimes. Still, time and blockchains marched on unceasingly in a singular direction → forward.

This new world continued to grow up around Satoshi's Closet in 2020 as we quietly watched and considered our next moves (and maintained gainful employment during normal working hours).

But having been in the arena - then largely keeping to the sidelines for a few quarters as other OG's and new projects took deeper root and began to bloom - burned inside. Our efforts with Satoshi's Closet were always more of a side project than a startup. Until now.

The world of NFT's - and the conversation around them - has exploded over the last year, especially the last six months. #CryptoArt and digital collectibles (and limited-edition apparel) are only the beginning for #NFT's.

NFT event tickets, ID and membership cards, ownership titles & deeds and more are coming. Centralized platforms ranging from social media to FinTech are going to be flipped inside out. It's going to be a wild future -

perhaps for some time running in parallel to legacy systems and other familiar ways of operating - but I have more conviction than ever that cryptocurrency & cryptoassets, and how we relate to them, are going to massively shape the next hundred years in very human/social ways.

Navigating this new economic operating system is going to require new interfaces. And that is where @satoshiscloset_ is going, first designing a human-centered crypto wallet for the real world, and from there more broadly the interaction layer between people and #crypto.

I've spent the majority of my professional life - and large parts of my personal life - exploring the boundaries between art, design & technology. From 3D modeling and computer animation as a student, to 2D illustration and video compositing, to web and apps and crypto.

I am incredibly excited to make this my full-time pursuit through @satoshiscloset_. Our Crypto Future is coming, and I aim to make it fun and navigable as we make the leap.
