Only 4 of these people have children at school. Several don't have children at all. None of them have ever taught. And it's not going to be mandatory to wear a mask in schools anyway.
Still I suppose we all need to fill the empty days.

Thinking of describing myself as "not allowed to work space fisherman."
I seem to have been cancelled... very peculiar. I'd never even heard of him.

This is - I'm afraid - going to take more than one tweet. I'm very grateful to @welbeckpublish for taking a punt on me and to my agent Doug Young. Thanks to, to The Bookseller for this - which sums up the direction of travel thebookseller.com/news/otto-engl…
Finally - and I'm sorry to come over all Oscars acceptance speech before the thing has even come out - thank you twitter friends for the arguments and friendships and banter. This site gets a bad rap. It's not all bad!
The absolutely extraordinary story of 'Douglas Berneville-Claye" - fantasist, bigamist, Nazi collaborator and member of the SAS. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/189894…

I bet you even Gavin Williamson dreams of waving at the front door of Number 10 as he drifts off to sleep at night. In his BHS night cap and ill matching pyjamas.
Apparently Sunak is on record saying he doesn't want to be PM.... now if only there was an example of someone who had said the same theweek.co.uk/85515/the-six-…
The UK has just 25 statues to women who were not Queens or Princesses. A staggering statistic. And now the government is seeking to erect 1,700 new statues to (mostly male) war heroes reducing the ratio even further. theguardian.com/culture/2021/f…
That would mean that just 1.5% of British statues would be to women.
This seems to be an initiative of the "Common Sense Group". That curious band of Tory MPs who have nothing better to do with their time than lament the passing of Victor Comic Britain
Me for Byline Times on the government's war on woke and the great "free speech paradox." And more - why we should be worried. bylinetimes.com/2021/02/17/the…
Written yesterday before a great debate descended into my timeline.
As I keep stressing I think the government's target is control of history, control of the narrative and division. They need a new front. I accept other aspects are at play.
