A perfect replica will never be like the original...
...but only because we are humans and we attribute value to the first instance of something.
The more unique something is, the higher is its preciousness.
Sometimes the uniqueness comes with the fact that it would be really really hard even for very artistically skilled people, to replicate the piece of art.
If I can make perfect copies of Leonardo Da Vinci's pieces, they won't be his... but surely they'll look like his.
Their beauty is still there, it doesn't matter if there are 1 or 100000 equal pieces spread all around the world.
The point is, IMHO, you guys can pay whatever you want for something, I am certainly not gonna think it's cool to do that.
If I can print a beautiful replica of a jpg in A3 format and put it up my wall because I wanna look at it everyday...
...that's how I am attributing emotional value to that art.
Financial value, that's another thing completely. I don't care if you print it too!
I wouldn't mind if the same art was on everyone's wall because I would have more chances to look at it while visiting friends, going to places!
NFTs are currently a proof of concept for something that will come sooner rather than later, I am totally fine with that.
For the people that are putting their money on NFT art right now, I can't rule out that they will profit greatly one day from selling their NFTs...
Why?
Because we are humans! 😊
Someone one day will feel the uncontainable urge to be the owner of "that famous NFT that made history"
I will smile, amused and I'll move on.
When we'll tokenize other things like real estate, productive assets and so on... it's gonna be a different story.
I love how history rhymes.
Pay attention, attention pays you back.
