We are delighted to announce that we have just registered a sister charity, The PressPad Charitable Foundation, and are thrilled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their Archewell Foundation will be among our first donors. (1/4) #DiversityandInclusion#archewellfoundation
The Foundation exists to provide bursaries and support to complement the work we’ve already started at PressPad to link mentoring, networking, and accommodation to help young people of diverse backgrounds gain entry into the journalism industry. (2/4)
We look forward to continuing to make positive & lasting change to improve social mobility in the UK media. You can find out more about the foundation on our website. There will be more announcements coming soon about our trustees, activities & plans: presspad.co.uk/the-presspad-c… (3/4)
We’re excited by such positive action after difficult yet important moments of reckoning for the UK media. We’re proud to say our values of action, compassion & community align with the #archewellfoundation. Thanks 🙏 to everyone who spoke their truth. It takes us all (4/4)

Hi, my name is Ayomikun Adekaiyero & if you didn’t know I’m the social media editor of PressPad. Being black myself, I was personally moved by the events in America & wanted to do what I could to help make up for all the times I have not stood up against the racism towards me.
We came up with the idea to make a list of black journalists and reached out to our followers to give us a list of up & coming black journalists. They did not disappoint. Welcome to the first round of brilliant black journalists in response to our crowdsource earlier this week.
We hope this may encourage more young black people into journalism which will help #DiversifyTheMedia. We also want to support the #BlackLivesMatter movement & elevate black voices, not just now but continually so that their voice does not get silenced again.
