2/ Psychopaths display a lack of empathy and compassion. They can be grandiose & even charming.
When psychopaths are in leadership we see more bullying, & increased staff turnover. @Barristerious@sally_stevensxn@shaunwarnock_sw@yabbtopia
3/ organisations with leaders that have psychopathic traits tend to display more unethical and destructive behaviours & have poorer outcomes also. Rates of psychopathy in corporate/executive roles are up to 20%.
Compared to say 1% in the general population. @Drhutch2011#auspol
4/ interesting psychopathy & narcissism are linked too. In narcissism u see individuals with delusions of talent, entitlement & involved in fraud & sexual harrassment.
So, @vanOnselenP I’m not so sure that you have a strong argument for suggesting Kate is lying here @RonniSalt
1/ Traumatised little girls are INVISIBLE in the school system, they behave well, their learning& behavioural difficulties are overlooked & undiagnosed. Their abuses are also more likely to be classified as ‘unsubstantiated’.
School driven and CPS data sets are extremely
2/ limited.. This is true also of suicidality -which in women are also undiagnosed, they complete suicide less-because they have a sense of responsibility to their children. If women were not the primary carers - we would lose more women. @DV_NSW @custodypeace @Kate_FitzGibbon
3/ women are also more likely to be turned away from emergency mental health services than men- they are less likely to be believed & are less behaviourally ‘risky’
Again- leading to reduced diagnosis & care @sally_stevensxn @DrLataSatyen
3) I’ve witnessed child protection disbelieve children 4) I’ve witnessed judges & magistrates disbelieve children 5) I’ve witnessed child psychologists disbelieve children 6) I’ve witnessed parents disbelieve children 7) I’ve witnessed lawyers disbelieve their own child clients
8) I’ve witnessed husbands disbelieve their wives 9) I’ve witnessed court report writers disbelieve children…over and over again 10) I’ve witnessed siblings disbelieve their own siblings- even when they have been victims (of same perp) too
2/ Although I’ve advocated in this space through all levels of govt- only the private sector have truly committed - with the most beautiful location, sparing no expense to making it a truly healing environment for survivors…
3/ …with a pool, gym, art therapy, yoga, fantastic healthcare workers, inpatient & outpatient holistic therapeutic service.
🧵 1/ This week, I have been asked multiple times- why this new Trauma Hospital is for women-only.
I have been accused of discriminating against male victims of trauma.
2/ I have spent many years working with survivors of trauma, in fact much of my work has been with men…defence personnel, police and other first responders. I continue to treat those men. @kellyanntansley@EleniPsaltis
3/ They access PTSD services that already exist.
Most of the time the men I’ve treated have experienced trauma in the workplace, and childhood trauma. Most of them have been traumatised by other men. @JaneCaro@davtw2@kelly_pages@kelfuller@DrAsthaTomar
