1. I am beyond thrilled to see this incredible platform from @RebeccaLamorte - and I’m gonna break down my favorite parts. #CripTheVote
First though, come to Rebecca’s townhall on Monday, 7:30EST to discuss it! cutt.ly/r4nydisability…
2. Okay, let’s break this incredible plan down.
COVID-19 has decimated disabled people in the past year. @RebeccaLamorte poses the right steps to protecting our community, including demanding accountability and change for the nursing homes, especially with Cuomo’s cover up.
3. With the dangers and terrors of nursing homes and other congregate housing, disabled people have had to fight harder than ever this year to receive care at home. @RebeccaLamorte sees this and knows and plans to robustly fund programs that provide care at home. #CripTheVote
4. Next! Transportation! NYC is so incredibly inaccessible to so many disabled New Yorkers, and @RebeccaLamorte’s dedication to increasing subway accessibility, parking accessibility, crosswalk safety, and so much more!! #CripTheVote
5. I am especially thrilled to see the dedication to improving storm responses and evacuation plans to meet the needs of disabled New Yorkers. @RebeccaLamorte sees that fear and is committed to changing it. #CripTheVote
6. End! The! Subminimum! Wage! This is an absolutely crucial step for decreasing the poverty that so many disabled New Yorkers live in, and I’m so excited to see @RebeccaLamorte focusing on it!
7. New York City must reimagine public safety, and @RebeccaLamorte is absolutely committed to that as a long term goal AND to working on more immediate solutions. She will center disabled New Yorkers harmed by police brutality to put forth proposal. #CripTheVote.
8. Reimagining public safety also includes expanding restorative justice practices in schools and ending carceral-style punishments. Disabled students, especially disabled students of color, deserve school safety dedicated to deescalation and abolishment of mechanical restraints.
9. Finally (and there’s a lot I couldn’t include!), I’m thrilled to see @RebeccaLamorte focus on providing more outreach and services to disabled NYers, including expanding ASL at public meetings. When resources exist but are inaccessible, they may as well not exist at all.
Anyway!! There is so much more incredibly good stuff in this plan! And come out to Monday’s townhall at 7:30 PM EST to discuss it!! cutt.ly/r4nydisability…
I hope to see you there!

Okay here it is, Tory's steps to handling your nightmare inbox
You've got thousands (or tens of thousands) of emails to get through and it's stress inducing and also you might be missing important things, especially if you're job hunting or waiting to hear about a vaccine
This is for gmail (and for personal email, not campaign etc)!
#1:
Turn on keyboard shortcuts, things will go much quicker. And then USE the keyboard shortcuts: support.google.com/mail/answer/65…
#2:
What emails can you bulk delete? Anything from DoorDash, Amazon, delivery services. Walgreens. Do you get emails anytime you make a purchase over $20 or similar?
Search name, select all, and select all that apply (so it's more than the one page), and delete em
"Tory Cross said the lack of verification requirements is crucial to California’s commitment to vaccine equity.
“It’s really important... to be able to self-attest,” she said, noting that many lost their healthcare during the pandemic and might not have easy access to a doctor."
Many people lost their health care in the past year, especially people who had health care tied to employment, so wouldn't be able to get proof of their health conditions.
And of course, there's medical racism, for example, that makes it less likely for people of color to be diagnosed with these high risk conditions, despite being more likely to have them because of things like the environment, etc.
I see a lot of Californians not finding appointments with MyTurn - MyTurn is where I got mine but I also have a list of others that I planned to check, so here's the list!
So here's some points from the plan that I am joyously dancing over, imagining them being put into place.
$5 Billion a Year for 10 years to remediate lead in paint and soil and replace lead pipes:
So often policies don't acknowledge that the BEST way to prevent lead poisoning is to simply get rid of the sources of the lead. This gets right to the root and puts money where it belongs.
