WTO DG @NOIweala is meeting with President @MBuhari at the State House. On her first visit to Nigeria since she assumed office as DG on March 1. #AsoVillaToday
On a lighter note, during her press briefing (in the State House Press Room, where she has addressed countless other briefings in the distant past, as Cabinet Minister):
“I shouldn’t say ‘we’, because I’m now WTO.” 😀
NOI: I’ve been in the vaccine business for last 5-6 years. You need 4-5 years to get a plant approved to produce vaccines. I’m advocating that Nigeria should start looking now at establishing capacity for manufacturing vaccines locally. This is not going to be the last pandemic.
On @NOIweala’s delegation is @BajanDiplomat, Barbados' Ambassador to the UN and WTO at Geneva, and WTO's Chair of Trade and Environment Committee. #NOIinNigeria

Expectedly, LAW-L. 5% or 10% of £4.2m is a swith sum.
But: “A former Law dean, ESUT, Prof. Agu Gab Agu, [pointed] out that even though Ibori was Delta Gov, it had not been estab. the money was removed from state’s treasury hence resorting to court over custody was unnecessary.”
“His view is shared by a Lagos-based advocate and member of the Justice Reform Project, Charles Candide-Johnson (SAN) corroborates Agu, noting that Omirhobo’s suit against the Federal Government is an idle threat, and the outcries about the money “farcical and cynical.””
“[Candide-Johnson] further argued that the MoU is binding at the sovereign level, pointing out that Delta State government is not a sovereign nation, and did not make any complaint about its money being stolen.”
The #IboriLoot is the FIRST return of recovered assets under the Agreement #Thread
“Participants attach great importance to ensuring returned assets are used for the benefit of the people. Participants therefore decide that returned funds will be used in line with budget of FED REP OF NIGERIA for projects that will impact on poorest segment of the society...”
The Sept 1, 2016 Agreement was/is between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (signed on its behalf by Robert Goodwill MP, Minister of State for Immigration at the time) And the Federal Government of Nigeria (signed by HAGF @MalamiSan).
“Mr. President gave marching orders that this project must be completed... It is another milestone which evidences the commitment of Mr President to the development of Nigeria, particularly the Niger Delta region.” — HM Godswill Akpabio. #NDDCHQ
“For 15 years the rented NDDC HQ was not connected to national grid, so they can give out contracts for diesel. That became a racket on its own.” — HM Godswill Akpabio #NDDCHQ
1/ For a so-called ‘accountability’ CSO, you guys can be extremely SLOPPY & IGNORANT. @nsia_nigeria—which manages the #PIDFund into which last year’s Abacha loot & this new Ibori Loot are deposited—publishes annual audited reports. Start there: 2019 report nsia.com.ng/~nsia/sites/de…
2/ Every year @nsia_nigeria - Fund & Investment Manager for #PIDFund publishes annual reports. 2020 report not out yet but will be published. What kind of operation is @SERAPNigeria running if these basic facts are not available to you?Don’t you have researchers? Are you learners?
3/ This social media Agberoism that @SERAPNigeria does is great for Retweets & clout. But it’s useless as an actual means of generating the accountability they claim to seek. It’s also a way of avoiding the real hard work. It’s LAZY, & a disservice to your supporters and funders.
In terms of industrialization, the State that has seen the most progress in the last decade has been Ogun. Industrial capital of Nigeria: Agbara, Sango-Otta, Ibafo, Mowe, Sagamu etc.
Lagos too is seeing some very interesting stuff in the Lekki Corridor: the Lekki Free Zone.
—Rail Line reconstruction itself (the line runs across 12 States)—with NEW branch lines: Bonny-Onne-Owerri; Goniri-Gashua; Kafanchan-Rigachikun; Kuru-Jos
