#FCCincy's introductory presser with Brenner and Lucho Acosta is set to begin at the top of the hour. Will sit in on it and thread any notable quotes right here. #DCU
Brenner says he's thrilled at the arrival of Luciano Acosta - in particular because he's a player who has experience in MLS and who can help get him up to speed on things here.
I've asked Brenner about his impression of MLS prior to his arrival - says that he didn't watch MLS in Brazil but studied footage online before his arrival. Says he was excited about playing here. Somehow avoids saying that MLS is a "league with potential" which I love.
Brenner said he was attracted to #FCCincy because of the facilities and says he's convinced the club can support him properly. Says he's also attracted to the idea of living in America but, most of all, that he "wants to make history."
.@LaurelPfahler asks about Brenner's Euro interest & whether that remains a goal for him. Says his focus is in Cincinnati; "my heart told me it was time to come to FC Cincinnati."
Brenner, on Jaap Stam - "firstly it's an honor to be playing under such an amazing player who built such a great career." Says his initial impressions of Stam as a coach are positive, been a great experience. #FCCincy
Lucho: “This is going to be a great year for the club. The third year will be the charm for Cincy.” #FCCincy
Lucho, on facing off against DCU: “It’s going to be emotional. I’m very excited for it. I’ll just try and do my best for Cincinnati.” #FCCincy
Lucho says the club put a lot of effort into bringing him to Cincy. “That’s worth a lot to me.” Says he wants necessarily planning on coming back to MLS but he says that the effort they put into the negotiation process brought him back to the league. #FCCincy

Fantastic stuff there by LAFC’s Own Goal. Feels like just yesterday when the former DCU academy product debuted as DC’s leading scorer in 2013. He continues to thrive out west.
Last summer, the #USMNT played Cuba at Audi Field. I was covering the game. I left the press box briefly pre-game because I needed a quiet spot to have a private conversation with a colleague. We walked out of the press box and stepped into an empty suite right next door.
We chatted for a good 10 minutes, and as I turned to leave I was confronted by a very large man. "What the f**k are you doing in here," he said. I was shook, and I looked up and saw, much to my dismay, a Secret Service badge.
