Which Republican official, elected by over 2.8 million voters, posted the meme below that conflates the removal of confederate monuments with abortion?
A short thread on willfully ignorant voters.

Hint: He’s the same elected official who posted this:
And this:
Also this:
This:
And this:
Finally—this:
Two million, eight hundred thousand, six hundred and fifty-six votes.
If you guessed that the elected official is the Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina, Mark Robinson, you guessed correctly.

Mark Robinson spent four years in the Army Reserve, ran a small business, reportedly had IRS problems as recently as 2012–and was unknown until he spoke in 2018 against Greensboro, NC’s attempt to cancel a gun show following the Parkland mass shooting.
Following his speech in defense of the gun show, Robinson became the NRA’s new rising star, despite the fact that he didn’t even own a firearm at the time.
Robinson’s platform appears to have consisted of three issues:
1. Guns...
...and under “Guns,” I’ll include the denigration of mass shooting victim survivors.
2. Trump good;
...Democrats bad.
And 3. Posting things like this, which certainly didn’t hurt his popularity with white North Carolina Republicans.
google.com/amp/s/abc11.co…
Regarding his posts, Robinson claimed that he’s not ashamed of them, and that he was “ speaking directly to issues that I'm passionate about.”
Mark Robinson also held a press conference when the NCGOP was attacked...by a cartoon.
Lt. Gov. Robinson was so distressed that—he claims—a student wasn’t allowed to write a report on him for Black History Month that he formed a task force.
The acronym for the task force is FACTS, for “Fairness, Accountability in the Classroom for Teachers and Students.”
apple.news/AdrPS0jXyRIycG…
Note that Robinson isn’t an educator, but he’s a member of the NC State Board of Education by virtue of his position.
All FACTS task force members are conservatives, including two John Locke Foundation operatives, and two county board of education members.
One FACTS member, Onslow County Board of Education’s Melissa Oakley, seems to have given away FACTS’ game in a Facebook reply.
There’s no transparency, and Robinson apparently didn’t form the task force in the hope that someone will bring an opposing view to the table.
FACTS task force member Oakley, incidentally, isn’t an educator. She and two other Onslow County Board of Education candidates rode last November’s pro-Trump wave to victories over three sitting board members, one of whom was a 40-year educator.
google.com/amp/s/amp.news…
One of Oakley’s fellow board members, Eric Whitfield, was elected with 27,789 votes despite using the term “ignorant darkies” in a Facebook post, and admitting that his intent is to use his position as a stepping stone to the county board of commissioners.
Despite all the above, I do agree with Mark Robinson here—and Robinson’s a walking red flag.
Politically speaking, North Carolina is a shitshow, with millions of Republicans voting against every Democratic candidate—regardless of the lack of qualifications of Republican candidates, or the racist views Republican candidates publicly, and unashamedly, espouse.
Democratic candidates will never flip seats in North Carolina by debating Republican candidates, especially when Republicans have no platform other than guns and “we aren’t Democrats.” Democrats can only flip seats in North Carolina by increasing voter turnout.
(End)
P.S.—A pro tip: Elect educators with a demonstrated dedication to the best interests of students to your board of education.

It’s odd that a former Kavanaugh associate—hired by George W. Bush to hide Kavanaugh’s records—gave $10,000 to Lindsey Graham, but what if Graham took action on another nominee associated with the contributor—one day after his contribution?
nytimes.com/2016/08/03/nyr…
Graham contributor William Burck was one of indicted Turkish gold trader Reza Zarrab’s “dream team” of attorneys, which included Paul Clement and Fox Corporation’s current Chief Legal and Policy Officer, Viet Dinh.

Recall that Giuliani flew to Turkey in an attempt to negotiate Zarrab’s release from federal custody; an escapade that led U.S. District Judge Richard Berman to state:

“From 1929 to 1974, North Carolina’s eugenics program sterilized close to 7,600 men and women, making it impossible for them to reproduce or conceive, according to The Justice for Sterilization Victims Foundation.”
Regarding Brett Kavanaugh’s association with the Federalist Society:
During his April 2004 confirmation for the DC Circuit, he told Senator Durbin that FedSoc “does not take position on issues. It does not have a platform.”
judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…
Kavanaugh’s response seems disingenuous, as ten months before he made that statement to Durbin under oath, he’d received an email—at his White House account—from FedSoc’s Joel Pardue. The subject was “Tasks.”
(2/10)
The tasking was directed by the Federalist Society, and was part of the organization’s campaign to confirm one of George W. Bush’s judicial nominees.
FedSoc’s Pardue and C. Boyden Gray had tasks—as did Brett Kavanaugh.
Remember when William Burck withheld thousands of documents from Brett Kavanaugh’s tenure as Staff Secretary, and Lindsey Graham was apoplectic over Kavanaugh’s treatment during his confirmation hearing?
Lindsey’s principal campaign committee received $10,000 from Burck.
judiciary.senate.gov/press/dem/rele…
Lindsey Graham’s is the only principal committee for a Senate campaign that Burck’s contributed to during the current cycle. The optics here aren’t good.
What rewards will Lindsey recieve for summoning rabies during Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing? Given this morning’s reporting on his opponent’s raising, I don’t think $10,000 is gonna cut it.
